We had a storm Monday night with winds over 65 mph. It knocked over the gas grill! And it pretty well smashed it and tore it up. This is a big grill we had for years. I tried putting it back together and could not. I think it's beyond repair. But, I KNEW if Frank were here he could fix it.
Only he's not here.
I needed to find his important papers. His will. His bank statements. On these occassions, I went to the cemetery and begged him to help me. And, somehow, he did.
You are going to swear I'm lying but yesterday, his birthday, I was standing in the kitchen and I found myself wondering since when did one of the cabinet doors stick out farther than the rest? I don't know why, but I put my hand against it. And as I pulled my hand away, the whole cabinet started to come off the wall.
Luckily my son was home, and his bio dad was here (we were on our way to the cemetery) as I couldn't hold the cabinet and get the power drill at the same time. We got the cabinet down, and bio dad reinstalled it. I cried the whole time because I normally would have called on my husband, and we'd have fixed it together.
I also get the "I gotta tell my Baby this!..." moments, when I see something that would pique his interest. More than once, I actually went for the cellphone, only to break down in tears.
