Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have no plans to ever use Facebook.
It was a bit like watching a multi-car, bloody wreck. You know how you don't want to see the gore and guts but you can't stop looking!!!! There I was watching her "no-neck monsters" and their phony, pretenses of lives and her sharing her diamonds and furs and "look at me" world....I'm a star life.....OMG, someone stop me or I will go on and on!!!
We ALL know someone in our lives who lays their bombs and leaves their shrapnel for everyone else to be injured by.
I know we've all seen these people who think that their excrement doesn't stink and that they've been given permission to mess with our emotions anytime they darn well please.
Well, I'm putting a moratorium on these folks......they don't get ONE NANO-SECOND of my time!!!!
Facebook is so FULL of them!!!!
OK, I'm done,
Roz
I post one picture of my grandson, and they all see it ... easy peasy!
If I find someone is annoying or disrespectful or mean I can hit that "unfriend" button, and they're gone in a flash. Or if you don't want to explain why you unfriended someone, just hide them, and you won't have to see their posts anymore.
I love being able to keep in touch with people all over the globe, see their pictures, and chat privately while online. I got a lot of support from my Facebook friends while my husband was sick, and after he passed.
If you're not happy with that form of social media, you can delete your account.
As for me, no thank you to FB. I, too, have friends all over the world and when we want to see pictures of each other or our children we share photos via email. We communicate via email or by phone and only with the intentions of caring for and loving each other with common courtesy and respect.
The tone and tenor that is used on FB far diminishes it's good intentions in my world! And, although I think of myself as a forward thinker, I find some of the language and pictures on FB to be disgusting at best and horrible at worst!
