I just want to explode.. the company that both Ric and I worked for for 17 years, have handled Rics death and aftermath in such a shambolic way it's beyond belief. And even today, 8 months on, they still can't get it right. After he died, I was sent a condolence letter from the Chief Executive, who referred to Ric as my husband - we were never married, we had different surnames. After he died they sent a letter congratulating him on his bonus. After he died ( 5 months after) they wrote to him telling him that as he had left the company on the 2nd May ( he actually died on the 3rd) he wasn't entitled to buy shares, with the money he has saved in the company's sharesave scheme. He was DEAD. Then today, they have written to our old address where we worked, where neither of us live, to his personal representative, which is me, regarding his shares, but the company know I moved out 4 months ago.
I've already raised a grievance which my union rep is dealing with on my behalf; but it makes me so ****** angry, like I'm going to erupt. If I told you the rest of how we've been treated (including our son) you'd be horrified. Grief is enough without this on top. When this is all over, I will tell my story one day.

Nicola, your anger is justified. Thank God my husband retired 3 years earlier and I did not have to deal with the uncaring, insensitive to everything attitude of employers now days. I hope this company gets it together QUICKLY for your sake. You certainly don't need this on top of everything else. Take care! Hugs! Connie

Dumb @#$!, okay sorry, but it gets me mad. We have so much to deal with without all the bullcrap from outside sources. I am sorry to hear that you have to deal with nincompoops!! just keep on journaling and saving all the letters and mishaps. Take a breather, and come here to vent your frustrations...sometimes it helps. Or you can go into an empty room and curse it out, works for me.

Thank you for all your support. Although some family told me to drop it,I've no intention of letting it go; I decided a few months ago that I could not walk away doing nothing. Ric was a person and he damn well deserves better. It's been hard, when my soulmate isn't here to turn to, but I'm carrying out what he would want me to do, and when I get to heaven one day, I know he will be proud I did it. Hugs to you all xx

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with the insensitivity and ignorance of these people. I feel you pain and your anger.

I, too, am dealing with some major miscues in paperwork, but mine are coming from the state where my husband had a small pension. Had to convince them that he had indeed died, had to convince them that he was indeed born. They lost that paperwork, even though I have the return receipt postcard from the USPS. Now I need to send in proof that he was born once again. And in the middle of these snafus I had to prove to them that he had worked for them. It's all just a pain.
