I was in the throes of a divorce and he had just finalized his. When we first met, it was an instantaneous attraction that we tried to fight...simply because we both thought we should play the field. Did not happen.. the attraction was too strong. Not to say that after several months we thought "let's take a break" because this cannot be healthy. 31 yrs later we were still together until that ugly beast known as cancer took him away. I know that many couples don't have the privilege of that many years, but it seemed it be over in the blink of an eye

l met Frank on my 16 birthday,l was out with a friend,we had gone to see a group play at a youth club.He walked onto the dance floor with his friend,his friend started dancing with my friend and l danced with Frank,and that was lt.lt was l964,l was with him until he died in 2008,married for 42 years,by the way my friend married Franks friend,they have just celebrated 44 years of marriage.

When I met Barry was after a boyfriend left me for someone else and he married her. Barry was my friends husband friend and I had know interest in getting involved. I thought he was an annoying pain in the butt and he said I was a cold bitch (excuse language). Some how after spending a little time together we began to date and that was it. It still amazes me that we didn't like each other a first and now 10 years later I am in deep grief over him. He was sweet, kind and charming, but still a pain in the butt however, he was my pain in the butt

I was all of 14 and babysitting for Richard's sister. Richard lived with her and was an on-the-road tractor trailer driver at the time. Only home 1 week out of the month. He took an instant attraction to me, and knew I was the one he was going to marry.

Took me a bit to warm up, but once I did, pow! I knew too.

I met Richard when I was 25 years old. Richard was 37 and going through a divorce. A mutual friend from church thought that we would be perfect for each other. He had two small children who he shared custody with his ex-wife and so I would babysit for him. He was funny, charming, and a great cook. He would cook for me when I would babysit. And the rest as they say is history.

My youngest child had just turned eighteen and I finally got the courage to leave my 28 yr abusive marriage. I definitely was not looking. I never wanted to have anything to do with a man again. Then a year later I hired Gerry to do repairs on my property. We became friends and I instantly trusted him. He came over one day to ask me out and I could smell alcohol on him and I told him then that I had already been married to an addict and would not ever go out with anyone that smoked, drank or did drugs. I just couldn't have it in my life ever again. I did tell him that if he wanted to go out sometime as friends then come over on sober days. Well he came back the next day sober and everyday after that. We never really discussed it but even mutual friends started making comments on how Gerry only drank Coke now. I wasn't sure what to make of it but he was such a genuinely nice guy I kept seeing him. So after about 9 months I asked him about it. I said why aren't you drinking anymore with your friends. He said that he had never had a good enough reason to quit before. That's when I knew I loved him. We married a year later and had 6 wonderfully peaceful years. He had never been married before but he was the best husband a girl could ask for. Our time together was so short but he gave me more joy than I had ever known (other than my kids)

I was working as a waitress in a restaurant and had the night off, but had stopped in to pick up my paycheck. They were very busy and short staffed so I ended up working at the bar. I saw him when he came in, and I just knew he was special. He did not talk to me all night and I was crushed. The next night I went sadly to work knowing he would not be back. Late in the evening he came in and we ended up talking all night. Everyone thought I was crazy. he was 13 years older than me. Twice divorced and had two teenaged sons. They were so wrong. We eloped 6 months later with not a regret.

We were both looking - more than 10 years after our respective divorces, too many bad choices, and wanting to have commitment and continuing love in our lives. We met on an Internet dating service after each having had way too many first dates - we could have written a book between us! Our own first date lasted almost 8 hours and we clicked instantly. Just what we wanted after a lifetime of searching!

I had been working at my first job out of college at the Pizza Hut Corporate office, when Melissa joined our group. I'd have to say I was looking, but I was not interested in going out with someone I worked with every day. What if it went wrong, and how would I continue to see that person every day after that? I could tell that she liked me, her beautiful face would light up every time I dropped by her cubicle. I would like to think that she was instantly attracted to my rugged good looks, and my animal magnitism, but we all know that is a lie! She would always jump right on any work I needed help with. I found out that she was going through a divorce, and had a young son. I'd never dealt with anything like that before, so that probably scared me off a little. I eventually came to my senses (or else she wore me down!) and we started dating. We were married about a year after that. She used to tell me that she was used to getting what she wanted. She wanted me, but I was driving her crazy by being hard to get!

It was my first day at college and engineering 101 was a huge class. We were being split into groups of five for a semester long project. I spotted this one cute girl (there were only three girls in the class) and asked the grad assistant if he would put her in my group, he did. By Thanksgiving we were dating, by two years engaged and by three married. I cant say that I knew she was the one but I knew I always wanted to be with her. We finished college, had careers, built a horse ranch (her dream), raised some kids and retired early about 2 years ago. We grew so much together its hard to think of myself as an individual, I was part of a unit.

My best friend met 2 guys riding horses at a local park. The quiet one who she didn't expect to call her did. We were all 15 at the time. She introduced me to his best friend and we hit it off immediately. We double-dated for several years and both couples ended up getting married. The first thing that attracted me to my husband other than his good looks was his outgoing, funny personality. We laughed a lot when we were together. I was quiet and shy and he was just the opposite. He brought a lot of laughter, fun, spontanaity (sp), and joy into my life. We married at 20 and were married almost 38 yrs.

I was working for a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney at the time. Recently divorced and definitely not looking. Wayne was a State Trooper and because of an upcoming trial, had a meeting with the Prosecutor. I will never forget the day he walked in the office. I looked up from my desk to say may I help you however when I saw him, words didn't come. He was just so handsome and as silly as it sounds, I honestly felt electricity between us. Of course after he left I pestered my boss about him, who was he, was he married. . come to find out he too was recently divorced. Long story short, Wayne kept finding excuses to visit the office and one thing led to another and we were married two years later. We were married for 25 years. . .some good, some bad, but I miss him every single day of my life.

We met when my roommate married his older brother. I was 19 and he was 24. Started dating 3 months later. Was not looking but he had the bad boy reputation which intriged me. Found that the man I heard about and the one I was dating were two different guys. 3 months later we got married.

I was recovering from a divorce (long and unloving marriage) when I became friends with my wife at work. I was determined not to date anyone from work, since I had met the other one at work. So, not looking. We became friends, then better friends, then besty friends.

I can remember the moment when I first became interested in a gf/bf relationship way I think it was because she was such a motivated hard worker and light hearted at the same time.

I can distinctly remember the moment (lunch in the breakroom) when we fell in love too -- the moment where each felt the others total acceptance, respect, admiration, and desire to be together forever. I have to definitely say I was NOT looking. I was a 16 year old, shy, bookworm type kid. I don't know what possessed me to enter that video arcade alone that night, but a tall, green-eyed boy asked me to play a game to which I repeatedly said "NO." That was my first encounter with that never give up spirit that my husband embodied. We were such opposites. I never knew what that extroverted, high school jock seen in me, but it worked for 28 years.
