Hi everyone. I just found this site and joined last night. I'm newly widowed a little over 2 months ago. My husband of a few days short of 33 years died April 19, 2010 of pancreatic cancer. I was his sole caretaker, allowing him to remain at home during his illness.
I have a huge hole in my heart after losing my best friend, soulmate, lover and father of my 2 sons. I'm slowly healing, and trying to go on.
It was so great to find this site, to be able to relate to people who understand what it is like to lose a loved one.

So sorry for your loss. You will find lots of people who understand how you feel and who will help you during this terrible time. I lost my husband on April 28, 2010, so I am pretty new at this also.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your journey ahead will no doubt be a long and difficult one. Just remember to take life one day at a time--or one minute at a time if you have to. Welcome to this site. You have entered a place where you will find others like yourself, and people that care about what you are feeling. I have been on here a short time and have found understanding people that laugh with me, cry with me, give me advice, and let me know that I am not quite alone as I thought I was. I'm so sorry for your loss but glad that you have found this site. You will find it a great support and comfort as you learn to adjust to your loss and cope with your new 'normal'. Everyone here understands and you will always have someone to listen and try to help whenever you need it. This is a safe place to express your feelings and find solace, you're not alone in your journey.

I am also very sorry for your loss. I lost my dear husband 2 months ago on May 4, 2010 - so I'm fairly new to this journey also. I'm very grateful to have found this site - the comfort and support that I've found here has been wonderful and I don't know what I would do without it so many times. It's a terrible journey that we're on - but having others with us who understand and are experiencing the same feelings is very helpful.

Welcome to the site..you will find much support and help here. I found this site about 10 days after losing my husband to liver cancer last Nov. To me it's as good as a support group you would find in your area.
Everyone here in the Widow and Widowers group knows exactly what you are feeling and how difficult it is ...I am so very sorry for your loss and that you had to find us..

I am also a 62 year old widow who has lost her best friend and soul mate, you are not alone. I think you will find this site a comfort, a place you can come to to share your thoughts and sorrow's. I am sorry for your loss, it is just so sad losing your other half, the one you were to grow old with. Welcome to our community of sharing and caring.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm new too, just stumbled on it tonight. My husband passed away just before Christmas after a 9 yr battle with cancer. I was his caretaker also and after devoting so much of my life to him, I still feel lost without him.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
