Has anyone seen the clips for the movie "Hereafter"? It is due out later in October. It got 5 stars - Matt Damon stars in it. It looks real good. This is the summary:

HEREAFTER tells the story of three people who are haunted by mortality in different ways. Matt Damon stars as George, a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cecile de France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus (Frankie/George McLaren), a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe mightor mustexist in the hereafter.

I haven't seen a movie in ages - but I'd like to see this one.

I am totally going to go see it. It comes out in theaters October 22. It is something that all of us will probably want to see.

Been anxiously awaiting for this to come out my husband and I hardly ever went to the movies we much prefered to watch what we wanted on TV at home, but last weekend I broke the ice and went to the movies after work in the evening alone....wasn't so bad, learning to do alot of things alone........can't wait to see this one.

Have any of you gone to see this movie yet?
I am going with my girlfriend, Debbie. She lost her twin sister a couple years ago.
So the two of us are both in the grief process. I felt I wanted to see it with someone who is on the same journey.

I agree with lots of you, I would prefer a comedy... don't we all need to laugh. Not doing enough of that lately, right/?

I saw the movie on Saturday. It was better than I expected. It is not a depressing movie, in light of our losses. It was interesting and has a surprise ending. Of course, I sat in the theatre alone and wept, so following the movie I went and purchased another ticket to the next movie " Life as We know it", which was light and funny. Other than losing 4 hours at the theatre, the evening ended on a positive note.

IMHO, and please don't take it personally, I will pass on this one. I can't see how seeing a fictional movie on the afterlife will give me any comfort. I prefer to get my answers thru God in all the ways he provides them. I put seeing a movie like this along the same lines as believing what a physic would tell me. Not gonna go there.

I saw "Hereafter" today. It was just ok. I am not sure if I would recommend it.

It was interesting and different, but not great by any means. Just my humble opinion.

I went to see the movie on Friday. In my opinion, it was very well done. At 2 hours and 24 minutes I thought uh-oh, that's going to be really long, in fact - I couldn't believe how the time flew by. I was riveted to the screen.
Clint Eastwood (director) was very careful to keep religion and cliche out of the movie - no "white lights" or "tunnel".. I would highly recommend it - but do bring tissues!
