I truly believe our loved ones who have past are able to contact us and I'll tell you why.

My wife past in early last July very unexpectedly. Within days of her passing things started happening. I was vacuuming and I could have sworn I heard the doorbell ring. Went to door nobody there. Thought nothing of it. Later that same day was on a Web site about past loved ones sending signs guess what was on the list? Yep door bell rings and nobody there. I found numerous pennies and dimes right after. Some times 2 or 3 a day. For about a week. Has slowed down alot but did find a penny yesterday.

The last dream I had of my wife after her passing was about 5 months ago. Her sister was having a hard time dealing with her passing. In my dream my wife was walking out our front door. I asked her where she was going. She said she was going to her sisters she needed her but she would be back. I guess her sister still needs her. As I said that was the last dream I've had of her.

Lastly my grandmother past about 25 years ago. We were very close. After about 6 months after her passing I was still thinking and worrying about her. She came to me in a dream and said...

"Billy"

"Nana, your not dead."

"No I am still dead. I know you have been worrying about me lately and just wanted to let you know I'm alright."

Than I woke up. I think your wife came to you to tell you she loved you. I don't know how you feel about it and there is no right or wrong way to feel about it. I would treasure that dream and hope to have a few more. But that's just me.

You are so fortunate to have that dream. I believe those that have died communicate with us during our dreams and that's why it felt so real. I've had vague dreams of my husband in them but he's never talked to me. He passed suddenly last October and we (my two kids) have seen signs and my daughter has very vivid dreams of him but I'm still waiting for one like you had. I think it is a blessing. Thank you both for your feedback, and info. I've personally never had a more lucid and focused dream. I've of course have dreamed of people before and of her as well... but NEVER anything like this, it was like ultra HD. It was not a memory of her, it wasn't a vision of her... it was HER!!! I realized that when I hugged her, and I FELT IT!! I think that is why I overreacted the way I did in my dream. After holding her, I realized it WAS her, and all at once I thought to myself... " OMG she's back! I am NOT letting her go THIS TIME!!!" It was so bittersweet, which is why I think I sat on the floor for so long afterward. I was trying to not lose that feeling, to make sure that what I had felt, what I had saw.... was actual. Of course it was a dream... but honestly... Was it? I'm still not sure, yet I feel blessed to have had such an experience. I miss you baby, I miss you EVERYDAY!!!

I haven't been that lucky to have such a vivid dream of my husband. I'm happy that you did. Just wanted to mention that when my Mom died back in the 1980's my son had just turned 5. A few months later as he was eating his breakfast he said "I woke up and saw Grandma in my room last night. She was standing by the bed and smiling at me. She looked just like she always did. Then she floated back toward my closet and disappeared." We had never told him anything about people appearing after death or anything like that. Thought that was pretty amazing.

Yes these seem so real.... In the first month after my husband died, I had 2 dreams both the same.. I felt a weight on my bed, turned over and he embraced me.....I am sure I said out loud "You came back to me!" It felt so real and so very good.... then I woke up to an empty bed.. I have not had that sort of dream since those in the early days. As upsetting as they were, I felt comfort in them.

I've had many signs from Dennis all you need to do is ask...
I'm always asking him for signs and usually I or my kids will get one from our skeptic..

I had a dream about Dennis, a couple of nights ago..dreamt we were buying a car from a man we had bought one our first cars from over 30 years ago when I woke up I thought wow, why would I dream about him? When I read the obituaries that morning I found he had died, the night I dreamt about him....This is the second time I've had a dream like this, had one about my best friends old boyfriend she had dated when we were in high school, the same thing happened...
My daughter had a dream about my husband and one of his friends he went to high school with who died before she was born she never new him none of our daughters had ever known him..He died of a sudden heart attack in his early 20's..something Dennis died from..She ask me if I had a picture of him, I told her he was in her Dad's old yearbook..she came over went through the book and picked him out...So yes I believe we receive messages from are loves through our dreams..
Oh, she said Dennis looked like he did when he was in his early thirties, and him and his friend Ray, were laughing and happy, and Dennis said tell your Mom I love my sweetie..

Gail, thank you so much for writing that. You know, I don't know how I missed this... my beloved wife had an almost obsession with her dreams!! How did I forget this until just now? Just glancing at the books on her bookshelves I see seven (7!!) volumes dedicated to dreams, and their interpretations. She ALWAYS would discuss her dreams with me almost every day!! (How did I forget this!!??!! It was so much a part of just about every morning with us!) Of course, if ANYONE was going to communicate through dreams it would be her! Wow, now I'm even more convinced that there is more to this than I allowed myself to believe. She was the spiritualist... I never was... if communication with the nonliving is a possibility she'd be the one to figure out how to do it.... even if just to tell me "I told ya so". Lol Even from the beyond, she has what it takes to make me smile.

That would be like Heaven/Hell..this loss of ours is sometimes too much to handle. Wish we could all just be OK again..not happy but just ok. The price we pay for love. But then imagine if we had never had them..Hugs

I've had these type of dreams about both my mother and husband. They are different than normal dreams as they are so vivid and the details remain clear in your mind years later. I believe they are visitations. In both I felt the physical contact and remember the entire dream. When my husband kissed me I remember thinking that it was the most " heavenly kiss". I believe that was our final "good-bye". I hope you all get to experience this as it is such a comfort.

When the doctors said that there was no more treatment, and no positive outcome for my husband, even though he wasn't lucid, one day he did rally and was thinking clearly, so we were able to have "the conversation", essentially giving him permission to start his new life in heaven. The fourth morning after his passing, on a Sunday, I was awoken from my sleep by a loud, booming voice from above calling my name. It wasn't the voice of the man who had been ill and frail the past 3 years, but the young, vibrant, athletic Scot, letting me know that he had reached his destination, and that he was all settled in to his new home.

Those visits in the form of dreams are such special gifts and they do serve a purpose as well. They allow us to let out some of the pain associated with grieving. I have had a few of those dreams in the last 4 years and usually around the time when I was having even more of a difficult time. You are right , they are very bittersweet .I'm including a link to one of my journal entry , After one of my dreams. This is shortly after I had started an apprenticeship to become an EA . Being over 50 , it was quite the challenge as I had graduated high school over 30 years prior. I would ask for Howie's help at the start of every assignment so this dream was indeed a most special gift... They are the most precious gifts that serve a purpose. Those gifts are a message that they are here for us and that we can still talk to them ...

I have had many, many dreams with Cliff over the years, and have had a nearly identical one to the one you describe. I kept trying to get him to stay, but he said he couldn't, he had already stayed beyond what he was supposed to. He still visits in my dreams from time to time, and occasionally I still get signs from him as well. I have had lights and fans go on by themselves, smelled the scent of roses when none were in the house or in bloom, and felt someone stroke my hair when no one was there (he always loved my hair). I can't explain these things, nor do I try to anymore. I know people who have been through this will understand, and I just don't talk about it with others who haven't been through it.

I have to say that I feel left out. I haven't had one dream since my wife passed. I'm talking zero dreams. It's like going under anesthesia, nothing but darkness and then I wake up in the morning.

I think that dreams are such a precious gift. They are like meeting places, and they are far too rare!
