I recently got a message from a new male member here that was also asking for a relationship. I just deleted it. If it happens again, I will notify DS.
If enough of us complain, hopefully this person will get the hint and leave. Most of us are too fragile to have to want to deal with these trolls. Judith

Treat it like an unwanted phone call but instead of hanging up, just delete it. I'm wondering if that is why so many here have begun to keep their profiles private. Please don't let this upset you or turn you away from this site as I don't think it is something that happens all the time. That "delete" botton is actually pretty handy. It allows YOU to be in control. Actually, responding to these spam messages may not be a good idea.

It has happend to me a few times. It's just junk mail. I have a picture of my dog and was told I was beautiful. Guess I'm a dog, which years ago meant you weren't too hot.

Got the same email. I noticed that he had just joined and said he had been widowed for 5 years. I ignored it, wasn't interested, but wondered if people just join to see who they could hit on. I'm glad you all reported him.

I just got my 4th one yesterday evening and I'm male. They come on as DS members and they're just parasites. I hope it doesn't keep you away from DS because this is a good site with honestly caring people.
Unfortunately there are some bottom feeders who look for sites like this to prey on those emotionally weakened by grief.
I just delete or block them and don't bother wasting energy even thinking about them. Ignore them and they'll crawl back under their rock.

That is why I do not post my picture.Just remain anonymous except for your feelings which are raw and deep . You do not need this extra burden.
This is not a match.com etc. It is place where we can all come to share and express our deepest feelings and receive comfort from all who care to help us.
