It happens sometimes not very often. I just delete them. It is a good site with many good people don't let one spoil it for you. There is just bad people everywhere it is a shame but it happens here less than most! Sorry it had to happen though! Hugs!!!

Those trolls have nothing to do with the good people on this site. Please don't give them that kind of power. This is a healing place.

The person who did so is insensitive, sick and has no conscence.
I agree do not give them the power to interrupt your journey in this, as sad as it may be.
I think something can be done to shut them down somehow, maybe someone here can help you with that.

It's not unusual for this sort of thing to happen online where people get to know each other.

Actually this site is very good at dealing with this sort of thing. You can file an abuse report - see the bottom of the page and the people who administer DS will look into it and most likely delete the person.

Yeah...i got one tonight too. Just deleted it. The humerous part was that he could see from my photo that I was "good enough" (his words...)

EXCUSE ME. GOOD ENOUGH? (breathe)

#1. My husband died in late December...so it hasn't even been four full months yet.

#2. It might be a foreign concept...but like wolves and geese and swans...we paired for LIFE...and well...I am not (quite) dead yet.

#3. I can't imagine what "Encouragement" you could possibly get from a photo of my husband and i kissing in a very happy and special moment in our marriage.

#4. It was insensitive to approach someone that way...this is widows and widowers...not the DATING game.

So sorry for your loss of Ken. The 24th will be four months for me.

There are people in the world that prey on the vulnerability of others..widows especially. Report these e mails to the DS board and they will deal with the offender. I often get IM's from people not on this group, I don't respond.
This is a good and usually safe place for us to find comfort and support.
I am sorry for your so recent loss, be assured that the kindness and concern here is abundant.

So sorry this happened to you. However, from the comments that were made here, it is not unusual for this to happen. Report it, and then forget it if you can. There is always at least one low life hanging around every site. There is an army of good people here, though, to support you in all things related to grief and healing. Keep coming here!

I got one a few weeks ago - reported it - and they said they delete him. Pathetic - probably just changed his name.

yes, I got one too tonight. And it sounds like it is the same one that all the rest of you received...I felt kind of slimed after i read it, and then realized by the English and syntacs that it is probably some idiot trying to make an easy buck on the very real vulnerabilities of widows. I deleted him(?) and will continue to do so. I hope most of us are discerning enough to see who the real people are on here.
I really don't think any of us came on here to hit on someone else...that just seems so creepy to me.

I reported him.. I sent the email to the report abuse button and then deleted it from my email.. yes I agree there are slimballs everywhere.. but on the whole everyone one here have been fantastic.. thank you all.. your kindness is so appreciated..
