Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Mercy, you have been in an emotional grinder these last months. If nothing else pans out, you would definitely be in the running for a best seller. Surely something good has to come your way SOON!!! You must have a strong constitution to have forged ahead with so many heartaches and disappointments in such rapid succession. Please don't give up, both in your heart and outwardly. Hopefully, this terrible recession will come to a close in the near future, and jobs will be more readily available. Keep us posted, and I will look forward to seeing a post that has a huge Hallelujah in it! TJ

Wishing you a brighter tomorrow!
~HUGS~ to you
I am right with you. Everything has fallen apart for me too and I live by the ocean. The sad fact is that there is no getting out of it. Firstly, your son. Then there is the thought that there is no guarantee your luck wouldn't follow you into the other side and you may not get a chance to work it out there, who really knows about all that but. *hit there is just no out but to go ahead. Peace and Hugs, Donna
Keep hanging on. You're in all our thoughts and prayers.
So sorry about ALL the troubles you are having!!! I know it is frustrating! Things will turn around for you-- they have to!! I'll add you to my prayer list. I agree with Truhal.....find a church grief group -- they don't cost anything. The one I found helped me a lot. Of course, I also started going to a Christian counselor -- after several terrible things happened to me -- AFTER my husband's death. I'm not going into all the things that did happen, but, there were several that almost sent me over the edge. I survived and you will too. Take heart, it will get better!
My gosh you sure have been given a full plate to handle. But please don't give up. As others have suggested, if you can try and get some support from a counselor I think would be of tremendous benefit. Know that all of us here at DS are here for you. This is such a great support system in itself. I know that I have been helped tremendously by the wonderful people on this site. They truly have been a life saver to me. Hang in there.... HUGS!!
The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming.
Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect himself from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, 'God! How could you do this to me?'
Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! 'How did you know I was here?' asked the weary man of his rescuers. 'We saw your smoke signal,' they replied.
The Moral of This Story:
It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. We shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering.
Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground.
It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.
When my son called he said "I have some really bad news". It took several minutes before he actually came out with the news (he knew how I'd feel)- but honestly, it could have been so much worse. He wasn't telling me at first what the bad news was and all kinds of things went through my mind.
