I thought it would be nice to think of something unusual or funny your spouse did, to get you to laugh, or the kids.
My husband was very serious, except around the grandkids. He would pretend to trip, make goofy faces, anything to get them to laugh. But the funniest thing he did was tell them the story of Percy Peterson's Pet Pig Porky.
It went something like this. It's kind of a tongue twister.
Percy Peterson had a pet pig, named Porky,
Porky love eating pie,
He had pie for breakfast, pie for lunch, pie for dinner and pie (pause) for dessert.
Porky like Pumpkin Pie, Peanut Butter Pie, Pecan Pie, all kind of pies.
Porky ate so many pies, you know what happened?
He POPPED! Made with the popping sound with your mouth.
The kids would just roll with laughter.

Stan would always tell on himself when he would do something dumb and would laugh and pund his hand on the table as he told his stories. When we were building our home he needed to go to Spokane Power Tool to get a hole saw. The guy wasn't understanding what he needed for some reason so Stan rather condescendingly said---I need a hole saw,
W-H-O-L-E. The clerk looked at him, like who's the moron now---and said they're over here and it's spelled hole.
When he sheepishly paid for his purchase he sat in his truck and laughed at himself and then told all of our construction workers.
