Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Take care of yourself. Rest as often as you can. Get sleep as much as you can. Don't ignore what your body needs. Make sure and eat and drink even when you don't have an appetite you have to maintain what your physical body needs. If not you wind up with health issues. If you are a person of faith, pray every day and night. stay in your faith. I lost my wife a year ago, I promise the stabbing pain will subside and dull over time. The one thing don't let anyone tell you that it's time you learn to get over it. You don't get over it, you learn over time how to live with it. Just take each minute as they come. Heal in you own way everyone is different. It definitely helps to connect with others who have gone thru this. It is a different loss than others.
Please take care of yourself.
Peace, Tim
I lost the love of my life 16 weeks ago yesterday to an unexpected blood clot.
I'm still early in the grief stages and probably don't have the best advise but I do know that it helps to read the stories of others that are going through the same type of loss.
If you can start by taking the first step to stand up and take care of yourself each day....You will find the strength to carry you the rest of the way.
I hope you find peace and comfort in knowing that others care and can relate to what you are feeling....Take care and stay safe
First of all you have my deepest condolences on the loss of your husband. This will be the hardest thing that you ever do in your life but it sounds like you're a very strong woman which I admire. I'm glad you found all of us here...this place has helped so many. I've been out of commission for a few days so I'm way behind on reading posts but I came across yours last night and I was very concerned about you and the day that you had before you. Thank you so much for the update, it did my heart good to read. I'm sure you're very proud of your boys. And I'm sure they're very proud of you. I know your husband is very proud of all of you. Always remember, love is eternal and he will never be far away...
Big hugs
