I had to change over and use my husband's cell phone as mine was giving me trouble. I had it all changed over to my number and of course started looking at pictures etc.
I looked at the texts I sent him and he sent back to me. He would type "I miss you" and I was gone only for groceries and medications and I would be gone about 3 to 4 hours.
I happened across my sister's texts to him, and I found my hubby telling her to "call, come see your sister, she's having a rough time with all of it",
It was about hospice and the cancer getting worse, caregiving, etc.
My sister replied to him about how much I loved him and he told her, "Letty is my baby".
I cannot tell you how wonderful it felt to see those words because he was so sick and not wanting to tell me so as not to worry me even more.
But I was his "baby" his love. Tears came to me immediately and I felt this ache for him in my heart. But I will treasure those simple words forever.
Oh how grief can be insufferable.
It's been 16 -1/2 months now. I still wear my wedding band and always will. He bought it for me when he had to go with the Army and train Alpini Solders in Italy. They climbed the Alps. My husband is gone but my love for him lives on until we meet again.

I will do. I found my old phone and MORE texts!! So many I love yous.
They are really priceless to me because I can hear his voice again.
I will get on that and email them to myself.
I've got a MicroCard with plenty of space. I can put it there!!

All I have left of my life with Cliff is a couple boxes. That's it. But my memories and those little reminders like the e-mails and such are huge in impact for me.
