Hi Everyone. I live in northern Illinois and am seriously considering moving to a warmer climate. I think I would like Florida, since I love the water. My passion is scuba diving and would like to be by the water. I know absolutely nothing about Florida. Any information/advice would be most welcome. Has anyone had any dealings with the Del Webb communities? I hope this is ok to ask of everyone because I have never met a more wonderful group of people than the friends I have made on here. i relocated to florda (clearwater area) after i lost my life partner. i love the beautiful weather and the brught sunny skies seem to help my spirit. i just wish i was able to find work, oh well just trying to keep the faith, come down and visit and see if florida is good for you . best wishes for your journey ahead.

I'm looking forward to making a move to FL after I straighten out my living situation here in MI. Having spent just a few days along the Palm Coast, I like it. The weather was great and it wasn't too hot. Yes I know it was January. I loved the afternoon I spent on Jupiter Beach. I'm not sure where I'll be living, but my sister will let me stay at her home which is in Palm Beach Gardens until I get back on my feet. I don't want to offend anyone, but as far as mean and rude people go, there seemed to be lots of New Yorkers that fit that description. From what I was told, they are only there for a few months.
Since my life has changed, I'm game for a different type of change. I did get an offer for a rent free apartment in Phila from one of my friends. So lets see, Phila or the Palm Coast. Tough decision ;)

Well Martha maybe i am sick of all of these people referring to New Yorkers. Maybe these discussions should also be closed. Discrimination against us? Never mind racist groups sorry i do take offense to this. Jealous? Florida never would SURVIVE without our money. GO GIANTS.
