Hello DS family.
I have had a hard time logging back into this site since everything has changed. Must be operator error!! I'm finally here. I just can't seem to find any happy since my husband has been gone. I've moved to a different place (not by choice) and now moving again (not by choice). I have had so much sadness and so many tears. Its coming up on the 2 year mark for me and it feels as if it was yesterday. Im lonely and lost. I have tried going out with (girl) friends to breakfast or coffee and I have even started going to a weekly get together with some of the people who live in my apartment complex but these things are not helping. In fact they have made me miss my husband even more. I miss the companionship, the closeness, and just him in general. I know there is no magic time frame or magic potion but does anyone at this stage in grief still feel this emense sadness? I know some of you might say go to counseling but I have tried that and its not for me. I have tried to connect with others and like I said thats not what I'm missing. I have even tried church but I have never been a church going person so I felt more out of place there also. It seems as though I'm just going to be this way. This is so hard. Thank you for reading my post.

Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...

I want you to know I know how you feel. It's a whirlwind of emotions. If they get overwhelming see a doctor. I wish I had some great escape, but only to try to do things to keep somewhat busy and remember the good times as much as possible. Of course the bad times you have to go through them in your mind too because our spouses deserve to be recognized for what they've gone through that lead to their death. I wish you some peace and pleasant dreams that will wake you up with pride in your heart. Take care.
