Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Another person has posted here looking for dating advice. Then the same thing happened: people posted advice while some posted how much they disliked her being here, asking for advice from us very hurting individuals.
So, another down and how many to go?
My point is perhaps there needs to be a change in our group description, perhaps stating that people shouldn't come here for dating advice. The way we're going about it now is like trying to kill off every mouse on the planet. It is impossible. Someone is always going to come here seeking help, and we're going to tell them the same thing. Then another one appears shortly thereafter.
Whereas the post have never bothered me--I choose to not read them sometimes as most are clearly title, there are many here who are tired of them and consider them rather painful to read.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

To me that is clearly intended to be a support group FOR the individuals who have experienced that loss - rather than ABOUT widows and widowers.
However I doubt if any of these posters read the description - it isn't immediately obvious.
I suspect what is happening is that people google "d*ting a w*dower" and DS appears. Actually right now it's ranked 8th on google and it links to a post on this board.
So people posting those questions here, us answering them or talking about posts using that phrase will probably bring more people here - it's the way search engines work.
Taking up my soap box...sorry, been this way since menopause
I was listening to something on TV yesterday that got me upset. Dating means one is having a physical relationship. Geez...I am young and I never thought that. I feel like I live in a cave for not being informed. This is the last thing I would want.

I think there is so much more important things going on to worry about a post like this - I can ignore it easily enough.
There is plenty of good comfort and advice going around to offset this asking how to deal with a widower.
