"The first time ever I kissed your lips!"
"YOU NEEDED ME" By Anne Murray
I CRIED A TEAR
YOU WIPED IT DRY
I WAS CONFUSED
YOU CLEARED MY MIND
I SOLD MY SOUL
YOU BOUGHT IT BACK FOR ME
AND HELD ME UP
AND GAVE ME DIGNITY
SOMEHOW YOU NEEDED ME
YOU GAVE ME STRENGTH
TO STAND ALONE AGAIN
TO FACE THE WORLD
OUT ON MY OWN AGAIN
YOU PUT ME HIGH
UPON A PEDASTAL
SO HIGH THAT I COULD
ALMOST SEE ETERNITY
YOU NEEDED ME,
YOU NEEDED ME
AND, I CANT BELIEVE ITS YOU
I CANT BELIEVE ITS TRUE
I NEEDED YOU
AND, YOU WERE THERE
AND, ILL NEVER LEAVE
WHY SHOULD I LEAVE,
ID BE A FOOL
CAUSE I FINALLY FOUND
SOMEONE WHO REALLY CARES
YOU HELD MY HAND
WHEN IT WAS COLD
WHEN I WAS LOST
YOU TOOK ME HOME
YOU GAVE ME HOPE
WHEN I WAS AT THE END
AND TURNED MY LIES
BACK INTO TRUTH AGAIN
YOU EVEN CALLED ME FRIEND
YOU GAVE ME STRENGTH
TO STAND ALONE AGAIN
TO FACE THE WORLD
OUT ON MY OWN AGAIN
YOU PUT ME HIGH
UPON A PEDASTAL
SO THAT I COULD
ALMOST SEE ETERNITY
YOU NEEDED ME,
YOU NEEDED ME
YOU NEEDED ME
YOU NEEDED ME
Again, goosebumps!

Morey loved "Blue Moon" and would sing it to himself a lot!

Even 47 years wasn't enough time :(
I go through these "phases" where every once in a while I will be listening to songs on youtube that remind me of my honey..and I will start posting them up on my blog "for her", since ostensibly, thats the point of it, I'm writing too her/chronicling my life since losing her..
Took me at leastthe first 3-4 of these 10 months so far to get to where i can listen to much of "our" old music without crying..I had SO MANY songs I used to sing/dedicate too her...I'm so thankful she tolerated my singing..
Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.
But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.
But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
I was sitting outside on a patio at a caf when the singer sang this song. The part that really hit me was "I want to see you dance again".....
"I caught you knockin'
At my cellar door
I love you, baby,
Can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
Take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song
Because I love the man
I know that some
Of you don't understand
Milk-blood
To keep from running out.
I've seen the needle
And the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
Like a settin' sun."
I cry every time I hear it...I'm crying now just reading the lyrics...
