Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
It is good to read posts, yet, even better to join the conversation, and share your own feeling and thoughts.
I think being heard and understood is the most important in the process of healing after the loss. Sharing here helps, because people of this community speak the same language, language of pain, and listen to each other with deep compassion.
Every member of this site can relate to your situation; and hopefully our shared wisdom of surviving can augment you in your journey.
Welcome.
Welcome, your right many check the page for inspiration and healing, without ever "Joining" in conversations. But with out this place, where all is open to discussion, we learn.
We are also a victim of the cancer that took our spouses. One "Cancer" two hearts.
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. As everyone before me posted, this is a GREAT site. There's always someone here to listen.
We are all travelling the same journey. My husband died of a sudden massive heart attack, right in the ER, on April 2 of this year......I found this site shortly after and it has helped me tremendously. I hope it helps you as much as it does me. We're all here for you along with our thoughts and prayers.

It was six years ago for me and I can say life returns slowly and in very small steps. Just getting through the day, the fears, the sadness, and the pain in your own way is the path for now. We are here to walk together. Sharon
Welcome to a group of life savers I couldn't have gotten through this without them. I lost my husband of 38 years April 6, 2013 and I was not ready to loose him to kidney cancer that spread to his lungs and eventually his brain. It's been 5 months and it still is heart breaking and will be for a long time. So glad you found DS it is the best place to come and ask questions or vent when you need to because we are all going through the same thing.
I, too, am sorry you have the need to join us but am glad that you did find us and will now add your hand and heart to our mutual journey. My husband died on Valentine's Day 2012 as an indirect result of COPD. I have been a member here for over a year and credit this site and all the people on it for the healing I have experienced along this horrible path of grief. I can tell you, from personal experience, that things become bearable with the passage of time, but we each must go through the pain rather than try to circumvent it. Someone once told me that things don't necessarily get "better" - they just get "different." I've found that that's somewhat true, although I no longer have daily meltdowns - which is definitely better, in my book.
Again, welcome.
Hugs,
Terry
