Yes, we are temporarily alone, but it doesn't have to stay that way! Today I had an epiphany that I was a better person, because I was married to a wonderful woman. We empowered each other, and I loved taking care of her.

Life without love is like black and white TV. With love, it's like full color and surround sound. I don't know what the Lord intends for me, but he knows I need a companion. I refuse to surrender to the grief!

I posted a message asking if anger is normal in grief. Well, I'm angry now at the grief that saps my will to live. I had a great wife and a wonderful marriage. There are billions of people in this world, and if there was one as sweet, caring, and unselfish as her (my wife), then there has to be others.

Again, I refuse to just curl up and give up, and I encourage others to fight back! There is always hope.

I also want to add that I accept the fact that she is gone from this world...for good. She wouldn't want me overcome by grief for however long I have left. I can't stop the grief of course, but I can learn to cope with it. Some say we shouldn't move on. To each his own, but I cannot live in the past always reliving my life with her. She is gone. Her path is set. The question is, what am I going to do with the time I have left? I sure don't intend to suffer alone for years or decades. In fact, I honor her memory in that I want what we had again. It was that good!

I haven't been on this site for a while doing my own journey and feeling things, noticing things and adjusting to being alone. I have done OK with this over last year - my third without him. I have had holidays, cleared the section, chopped trees, dealt with other relatives passing away. I work full time and have social outings and activities. I to am appreciating my own company and alone time to reflect and ponder. I do think though that the comfort of this immediately changes when I think I need someone to hang out with and it becomes a tenuous task to see who wants to go, they have partners to consider, timing isn't right and I am reminded again how easy it was to be in a couple. The blessing of knowing someone so well and being joined so effortlessly. This raises another layer of grief and yet it is only there because we were so close and connected.

I now do more on my own so that I reduce the need for others and grow my independence again (it was already big). I do join spiritually more with this universe though cause then I never feel alone or lonely and am closer to my dharling!.

You know the worst and it just cannot be described in the human language. The very next morning when I woke up after finally going to sleep and it hit me all bran new again that my wife was not there and I had to let it in again that she had passed. It was almost worst than when I found her. I still can't describe this to folks who will listen. Maybe we never can.
