For the first time in my life that I'm aware of, I believe that I am depressed. How can someone who is a Christian in the evangelical sense be depressed. Over 9years ago I lost my husband and I was feeling many emotions, but I knew my heavenlyfather wrapped his arms around me and I would survive. Now, I have everything to be grateful for and it doesn't seem to matter. I even got a script for an antidepressant, but I still feel down. I talk to a therapist who I really connect with somehow it doesn't change anything.
How can a believer be depressed?

Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...

You do have a beautiful smile, You GO GIRL!!!!
Hugs.....Sandra
What Ever we are going through, Jesus is IN IT With us.
There is nothing which He draws nearer to us in, than our afflictions.
It is when we have the least awareness of Him being present with us, that He is nearer than our very breath.
It is only when we can do NOTHING, that HE is able to do EVERYthing.
Where we end completely and become absolutely nothing...THAT is where Jesus Begins, and Becomes Absolutely EVERYthing.
(an interesting read is every scripture that begins with ......"But God" (the verses immediately preceding those two words are All inevitably dark, deep, despairing things. Even hopeless.) you might have to search in the King James Version to accurately locate these scriptures. In modern English it is incorrect language to begin sentences with "But". however, in the old king james, it's not only acceptable , but also makes it possible to illustrate extremely very stark contrasts.)
