Reminds me of a co-worker of mine who was just a rude person to begin with. The way we dealt with him was to just ignore. When that did not work, myself and two others (vets) went to talk to the boss (who was also a vet). Within a month we discovered that person no longer worked for the company.

As far as I can tell JP, you are handling it well. If you must talk to her about her attitude, do so in a military manner (with respect and dignity). People like her do not know how to react to respect and dignity cause they have none. Chances are you will leave her speechless (miracles do happen).

Good move, Sir, the walking away. I've had to do similar myself. In my case, the person was just ignorant, not rude. Said "Vietnam vets are all just crazy." This was based on the Single ONE that he had known. Others there knew I was one, but didn't let on, & I just walked away. It hurt more than angered. Good luck to you if you do have to confront her, I'm sure you'll do much better that I would. LOL At any rate I think Happy's advice about respect is right on. Sort of like "Kill them with Kindness", well, we need to "Remedy them with Respect".

I would have thanked her for practicing her freedom of speech that "ALL" of us Vet's have giving her.....

No matter how bad they curse you, thank them and remind them that if it wasn't for the Veteran, they would !!!NEVER!!! be allowed to voice their opinions......

jpf777777,no word can make someone who has not served ever understand. only two peolpe ever volentered to give there life for you, Jesus and the American fighting man! a Veteran is someone who at one point in there life wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America up to and including there life!

I am at an impass. My first thought is "Whats The Point"? People like her do not deserve the sacrifice that many fellow american's have made to keep this country free.

I see how our current solders, sailers, and airmen are dying for the right of them to spit on our efforts and say "it's all good".

I did my bit, our soon to be vet's are doing their part and that is the best we can do.

I just hope we always have brave men & women like these to take up our defense of freedom. Those that don't appreciate it, are vocal and visible, but they are also the minority. They yell loud, but they know in their hearts, that they are endebted to us for that very right. It must drive them nuts when I just smile at them & remind them of that fact.

If the economy weren't so bad (and if I knew the local judge personally) I would have just knocked her the f*%k out and walked out.

It happened to me one time.
This lady told me that Did I think it was right to kill babies and children.
I did all that I could not to do anything
But I (WE) have to remember that one person could say something like that , while a hundred or more will thank us for serving. Have to admit. I .. almost lost it. With her.

Glad you held back Time man, it's the right thing to do. I'm sure we ALL feel like lashing out, but that plays right into their hand. That's what they WANT us to do, so they can then say, "See, I told you they were all lunatics."

Punching someone's lights out, hurts ALL vets. (No matter HOW MUCH they deserve it. LOL) Now, had in been Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi, well then, all bets (& the gloves) are off... ;)
