I too am mostly vegan but sometimes I fail and have cheese or eggs, especially when I go out to eat with friends.
It is easier for me when I eat alone to be closest to full vegan because I cook for myself.
My rule which I never break is that I never eat any animal meat and that I never break.
The cheese is so damn delicious that I can always get satisfied with a cheese pizza instead of breaking my boundary of no animal meat for food.
I do not do organic as that just complicates things too much for me.
The poor innocent Turkeys are being mass murdered and I am the only one in my world who denounces the mass slaughter and gives condolences to the Turkeys.
I tell people that we need to take the Turkey and the Hams and etc, - take them out and give them a proper burial - and all I ever get is a silence in reply.
Christmas is much the same as the people give their animal sacrifices to be their food - and I reject it.
So much fun for the vegans and vegetarians over the holidays.
It is like picking on a drunkard for their drinking, or criticizing a person who smokes cigarettes - it is just picking on the weak and kicking those who are down.
I think that is why God does not stop it - because we each and all simply must stop our self.
I first learned and converted to vegan vegetarian 23 years ago at 40 years old, and I learned about it from reading the autobiography by Mahatma Gandhi, and without that then I too would still be just as blind as are everyone else. Of course I had already been searching for the truths of life for near 10 years before reading that book.
Most people just do not seek the truth, and they surely reject the truth when confronted. IMO.
I do it for the animals and for morals reasons and for spiritual health, but nothing to do with my physical health.
In fact many people argue that my vegetarian diet is hurtful to my health, and I will often reply that I would choose to die of ill-health before I would live off of the violence in animal food.
I agree that meat tastes great, and if we only go by taste then I too would have to eat meat, so then just live by the lust of appetite - as everyone else does.
I really believe that meat tastes so pleasing because our human instincts are brutal and cruel so that people just naturally love the taste of violence.
