I use a Gabby Swim Diaper under my regular swimming trunks. It isn't absorbent, but won't let your swim trunks show strange wet spots in them. I have had no luck wearing any type of absorbent product when in the water.

I found myself in this predicament while at the beach with my wife and friends. While lying on the beach I realized that I was caught between a rock and a hard place. I couldn’t get in the water, because of the pad I was wearing. So I made an excuse to return to our hotel room to fix the issue. The shorts I’m wearing are dark in color, so if there is a leak, I can quickly make a dash for water. Wet all over, nobody cares, but a tell tale wet spot garners attention.
So It got me thinking. This is not a male, or female problem. It works in both directions. Women deal with this too. Light leakage, pads, and a bikini aren’t conducive with each other.

I use swimming shorts designed for incontinence, they look like regular swimming shorts but have a built-in waterproof pant that fits tight around your legs. I then put a swim diaper inside which protects when hanging around outside of the water. When you go in the water the swim diaper doesn’t fall apart because it’s designed for the water. Only issue as such is the waterproof liner of the shorts tends to hold all the water in when you get out.

You right , having any degree of incontinence is an issue when it comes to enjoying the beach and pools. I finally found a product that works very well for me, it is called the simplicity collection system. However, the system is now being referred to as High and Dry. When I found the product on line, I felt it would be great not only for everyday use, but also for the pool. And I was correct. It is a collection bag that is directly connected to an external condom type catheter that you wear in your pouch. If your swim shorts have an inner brief liner of any sorts that is great for holding an supporting the bag. If not, you can wear a jock to hold it. I have worn it many times now for the pool and hot tub and it works very well. I understand from the owners of the company, many divers use it under their wet suits. Of course it is designed for everyday use , having it work for water activities is a bonus. A great alternative in everyday incontinence management. Very easy to empty the bag at a urinal in a public restroom, without being noticed. This is truly a great alternative when you do not want to use any type of disposable. If you go on line you may still be able to watch a video on the system.

It’s very important that they fit correctly so if you order make sure you get the right size. As I mentioned before, the waterproof pant holds all the water in which takes some getting used to. I wear a swim pull-up inside the shorts which protects me before going in the water but also makes any nasty issues easier to clean after as well. Just google ‘Swimmates disposable diaper’ and you’ll see the ones I mean.
