I feel awful

im 23 years old and i have been out of work for 6 months my girlfriend does and make money but i just dont have no motivation to do anything i dont wanna be like this i wanna work i wanna make money i wanna help her out but i just don't know how to pump myself up to be better and go out and do it . i have dreams and goals i talk about them all time but i dont know how to go after them with faith im losing faith in myself.

I'm sorry you are having difficulty. Staying motivated is not easy. Perhaps you could use a life coach or accountability partner

You might also be depressed. See a doctor in order to rule out possible physical health issues.

Set daily goals, such as making at least job application. Don't beat yourself up. It doesn't help.

I would agree with jack - short-term goals and seeing a professional. However, if you wait until you feel motivated, you will never get anything done! Motivation comes from seeing results, and in order to see results you have to do something. That's why it's so important to set daily/weekly goals, and write them down! Don't just have them in your head - write them down and ask your girlfriend to hold you accountable.

My default response to most things was "I can't be bothered", so I didn't, and nothing gone done. I adopted this 'opposite action' strategy and changed my response to "I can't be bothered, but I'm going to do it anyway." It's not easy, but don't wait for motivation as it will never come!
