Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.

I took and it says it causes peripheral neuropathy, how is that different???

not sure what treatment you're talking about, but my understanding is that neuropathy is numbness while neuralgia is pain. The way things have been going for me this week, I'd trade pain for numbness in a heartbeat...

And it may not necessarily cause the neuropathy. That's just a possibility. I haven't had that experience.
