I am so excited about this! I checked my bald spot (crown of my head) for the first time in a while. I was assuming I'd see the same patch staring back at me since the pulling is not altogether gone.
BUT...
My bald spot is covered with hair!!!! There has been such a reduction in the times and amounts I pull that my hair is growing back! Granted, a lot of it is gray and it's still short, but it's there! I haven't had this much success ever! Even more than that is the relief I have from the never-ending self-condemnation that was running in my head 24/7. I handle everyday stresses without turning them into gigantic mountains.
Other proof that I'm handling things better:
New Year's Eve I did an incredibly stupid thing! I was coming home from Wal-Mart with my daughter and was waiting to make a left at a light. There was a huge semi that was going to turn right onto the street I was on, and he flashed his lights at me. First thought was, (since he had the green light), oh,he wants me to back up so he can make it. I checked behind me and didn't see anything, so I backed up! OOPS! There was a car right on my tail that I couldn't see, and I sent him thudding into the car behind him.
Yes, I had that awful sinking feeling, but I didn't have the racing confusion I normally have in situations where I have caused a problem. I was able to think clearly, take responsibility for my actions, and not get all upset! (Normally, I'd feel like life as I knew it was over and I'd made the unpardonable mistake!) I faced the anger of the young man behind me and was able to turn away his anger with a gentle word. The girl behind him was very understanding. We were all very glad there was no visible damage to any of our cars.
I didn't cry, I didn't stress, I handles things like a rational person. And I didn't keep going over and over and over it in my head and beating myself up for it. I went to bed in peace... AND I DIDN'T PULL!!!
All this to say... if there is any way for you to try this, PLEASE DO!! It is worth every penny! I have posted ways to bring this to your doctor so that he can treat you. This can only be done thru a licensed health care provider, so if your dr does not know about it, you must take the lead in showing him that this is out there. All our bodies are different, so the doctors monitor how we are responding and increase or decrease the different amino acids according to what we need. My next step is a urine test for this purpose. I'll keep you updated.
Please read my previous posts for more details. I think it's summerized well in the recommendations section.
Finally I think there is some hope for us! Don't just sit there being a victim and waiting for something to fall into your lap! Message me with your email and I'll send you the scan of the brochure I have so you can show your doctor. You can print out my other posts, too, for some anecdotal info. I have suffered with trich for 24 years now and I want fellow sufferers to know that there IS hope and there IS help.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
