By and large there are only a couple who do the whole political thing on here. Most who are here are either seeking support, have gone through the process and just still linger to help where they can, or are the occasional troll (doing research click this link kinda crap). Like you i personally wish the political stuff would be left off here as it is not a political board, but sadly it does happen. Ive been around here for a decade and there are some good people who have come through so you can feel safe here i would like to think. Obviously you should follow your standard internet safety stuff of dont give out names, addresses and so on, but situational things you should be okay. There is also the ability to message people directly on here as well, so if you aren't comfortable with the open forum you can always use that as well. At one point there were also a couple of groups specific to those in relationships with trans people as well, I just dont know how active they are. hopefully this was somewhat helpful. Feel free to post whatever you are comfortable with and i am sure youll find people are way more helpful than hurtful. DS itself has some pretty strict rules about that so a quick report to someone being a jerk and they dont tend to stay on here long. You can also shoot me a message if you wish as well. Take care
