My right ear has the most tinnitus between the two.
I can't hear the higher frequencies in my right ear, like I can in my left ear.
After my last treatment, we increased the notch sound therapy to a level that the brain responded in a more positive direction.
The TMS can only work if the sound file is loud enough for the TMS to increase the neroplastivity in the brain.
Buy not to loud to aggravate you Tinnitus. It takes a long time time to find the right balance.
After the treatment, it opens up the higher frequency in my right ear, to almost match the same frequency in my left ear.
Once it settles down, and adjust to the new higher frequency sound, your tinnitus starts to lower.
The process needs to keep moving along, in order for your tinnitus to drop.
Each week if your sound therapy test keep showing improvement, your tinnitus should come down to very low levels.
Next week I will have more results on this weeks therapy sessions.
We are now going to settle in on 4 sessions per week. Progress moving along very slowly at this point.
Did see some progress when we were doing 4 treatments per week. So, we are switching back to 4 session per week.
We did want to over stimulate, that is why we initially cut back the treatments.
The problem lies in the fact that my hearing aids are now required to be used throughout the therapy.
The brain needs to hear all frequency's in order for the notch therapy to relay the proper signals to the brain. This was the missing link.
We will know for sure two weeks. A significant drop in my tinnitus will happen.
This is something world wide, that has not been considered and issue, but the Dr., went back to drawing board, and re-calculated the numbers.
It simply did not add up. The brain needs 100% understanding of what the notch therapy is trying to communicate.
If not, the brain is getting mixed signals, and therapy is only getting 50% of the benefit, which means I am only getting 50% improvement.
Given there are 24 hours in a day I can squeeze in SoundCure, Neuromonics, white/pink noise and TRT sound therapy while I wash down Ginko, ADs, magnesium and B vitamins with molasses-laced apple cider vinegar sprinkled with cinamon and paprika and pour homeopathic drops in my ear. I shall distract myself (facilitating habituation) by creating audio-notched, phase-out music and search for T-apps in the iTunes store. I will go get rTMS in the morning then rush to a TENS appointment followed by Cranial therapy and a visit to my acupuncturist.
While driving to my hypnotherapist, I will zap myself with the Inhibitor (and hope a cop doesnt pull me over because he thinks I am talking on my cell phone.) Furthermore, since there are seven nights in a week, I can rotate evenings with a CBT class, yoga, meditation, Pilates, brain fitness games and Reiki. If any of this gets too stressful, I will pop a benzo, rub my chest with Vicks, snuggle up to my sound pillow, and listen to Kevin Hogan's tinnitus reduction CDs. If I awake in the middle of the night, I can get back to sleep with mindfulness meditations by Kabat-Zinn which I can set at a level just above the noise of a fan. And all the while, I will feel reassured I am being effectively cured by my Microtransponder VNS Implant. I am not sure yet how I will fit in my chiropractor, but that may not be necessary if all else works. I think I will save the heterodyning as a last resort.
Danny look, all that really matters at at this stage of the game is, will my tinnitus drop, or will it not.
It is really that simple for me. The Dr told me me once my tinnitus is completely eliminated, there is no chance that the original tinnitus could ever come back.
It is not like TRT where your Tinnitus is dormant. That happen to me, and it came back over the years (not for everybody, but it did for me).
TMS literally eradicates the Tinnitus forever. For me, that huge, considering that I have had it for around 16 years.
I am not scientist, but what I do know, is that this Dr., is brilliant.
And I truly believe in my heart, he is going to get rid of my tinnitus.
And yes notch therapy has to be 100% communicating with the brain, in order for the TMS to take effect., at 100% completion.
Also, since you know him so well now, could you ask him if he would be willing to trial a 2 week session on me?
I think I could be an ideal candidate.
Thanks.
I have been there 14 weeks with 40 sessions, and I am not even close to being finished.
Daniel the problem is, the Dr. is still trying to figure out the exact approach to use, to get his program to the point that each and every person will start benefiting at and accelerated rate.
Currently the Dr's program is not at 100%, of where he would like it to be.
My Tinnitus is erratic at this point. Yes, I have seen fantastic improvement, but the spikes need to start slowing down.
That is what he is trying to do right now.
The hearing aids cannot be used during this treatment, because the hearing aids would filter out the notch therapy, and would be useless.
The Dr. just determined that.
So now we are widening the notch therapy to encompass the outside frequencies surrounding the tinnitus. This could be the key to accelerate the process, and calm down the occasional erratic spikes.
Daniel, hang in there, when this is said and and done, I will drop a line in for you, for the Dr.
Dr., needs more time, to do additional research.
Keep you updated.
