Pramipexole is the only med meant for parkisons. Trileptal is an anticonvulsant that also seems to provide some benifit for me.

I started on March 16th, so I'm on day 4. No side effects, makes me a little drowsy. I'm taking .125 in the morning (1/2 tablet) and .25 in the evening (1 whole tablet). Too early to say if I'm seeing a reduction in my tinnitus, I do know I'm certainly not making it worse.

I am also starting to wear hearing aids on a consistent basis, unfortunately, they make little difference in my tinnitus. They do make a big difference in my ability to hear however.

I am going to stay on Pramipexole ,75 every evening.

I hope to see some type of break through, my the end of this week.

Not really sure how long it can take, before this mediciine will take effect.

At least I don't have to experience any side effects.

I guess it's the best of what is out there, at this time.

On my dosage of 1- .25mg tablet 3x per day my ear still rings but not nearly as loud. It's taken my irritating tinnitus,lowered the volume(but still can hear it)and evened it out for a whole 24 hour day. It has really improved my morning tinnitus which was alawys at it's worst first thing in the morning. From the start that's all I asked from the drug.

dgn68, You say on day 6,does this mean you have been taking the drug for 6 day's?

Yes I have.

This morning, it seems to have quiet down.

I can still hear it, but the volume is down.

If it can work like this everyday, I would be a happpy camper.

I am still amazed, that this drug is giving me no side effects at all.

Same here. Can hear it but much more tolerable. Still can go to the higher dose but it keep's it at this level it's a success.

So glad to hear of the success you guys are having! Woohoo! I eventually had side effects from Prami (skin rash), so had to stop. :(

I'm on Trileptal now and most days it seems to work very well.

Just got up and zero tinnitus again. Have never had this many tinnitus free mornings like this.

Yea here it is 11:20 and still no tinnitus. Don't tell me this drug does not work. Have been told elsewhere(??)that Pramipexole does not work and taking it is a bad idea. Like I have said doing nothing is no option and I don't care what other people think.

A person is on there own with this nasty stuff. Have tried telling certain doctors(researchers)about my 12 year 5 month ordeal but they "ain't" interested. Maybe it would cut into there profits. Let's see,$5 for a months supply or $6000 for the super duper thingy that you wear.

John, do you think if I took this drug throughout the day, it would be more effective.

I took 1 mg last night. I am not getting it lowered enough, I wake up, and I still have my good days and bad days.

I space my dosage out. 1 in the morning,1 in the afternoon and then 1 before bed. Now today I woke up with my ear ringing but the volume and pitch is low to the point where no masking is needed. I can't stress enough the point where I don't need to mask. Always had to do it on a daily basis. This is how much my tinnitus has changed.

Any further news concerning Pramipexole? I am visiting doctor in a couple of days and am going to ask him about it. I have been reading its working well for delta. Thanks.

Geohydro, Just wanted you to know that today(the 27th)I again woke up with zero tinnitus. Never in all my years have had this many tinnitus free days. You get greedy and want it everyday.

The days I do get up and my ear is ringing the tinnitus noise is simply lower in volume and does not have that high irritating pitch. I really do have a much brighter outlook on everything now where before it was nothing but gloom and doom trying to cope with my tinnitus. For me the Pramipexole is working. I don't know what more I can say.
