May God be with you and your family,

At times like this, nothing seems to matter but what is right in front of you. I am so very sorry about your mother. Keep us posted. We care

I am very sorry to hear about your mother's condition. Is she conscious and able to lucidly speak with her family, or not? Sometimes, life just sucks.
But once there is life, death is inevitable. This year, my project is to accept "old age, sickness and death." My wife and I don't have children, but 5 cats (well, 4 now that we've had to put one down). I want to hold onto the ones I love for the rest of eternity, until I think that through.
I thought the final stage/phase of my life would be dull-- but it's turned out to be anything but dull! I've learned more about myself and how to mindfully conduct my life in this universe from tinnitus than the 15 years of yoga and meditation I practiced before. I switched to Mindfulness yoga (Hatha with Mindfulness and Equanimity) and take meds (Xanax, Namenda, PS, Cymbalta, Hydrocodone for back pain, Wellbutrin, Vitamin C & D, B complex and 25mg of Seroquel at bedtime, increasing the number of quiet days by a factor of 2-- from 2 days/month to 4-5 days/ month).
I wish I could take your pain away and make your life quiet and peaceful, and will practice loving kindness for you (and me). It wasn't your fault that you got tinnitus, nor that your mother is dying. You're entitled to a wonderful, loving and challenging life, so go for it (even when you don't feel like it). Friends and support groups (who know what you're going through) are a great source of support.
I will share your pain with you, hoping that in some small way, this might help. Your life is important and meaningful.

p.s. The T is still there but it's easier to NOT focus on it ... but I wouldn't recommend a death in the family to help take your mind off ...
