These days, they say to run the white noise under your Tinnitus.
The reason for this, is that they believe that it's more theraputic
to the mind, to run your white noise at a level that your mind will get use to, over a period of time.
So once you are habituated, your T, won't come back.
If you run the white noise over your T, they feel that what you are doing, is drowning out the T, and if you do habituate, they say there is a chance, the T can come back.
When I said you need to match your T, I am not talking about the volume, I am taking about blending the white noise sound, with your T.
Anyway, I feel that I like the older day methods. Go above the T for a while, to bring down the volume, and then lower the sound, and run the white noise even with your T.
I started taking piracetam before finals (around late November '11) and I didn't notice until like a month and a half in that I wasn't hearing the ringing noise as often. I haven't heard the ringing for a while, and I've been taking piracetam daily (around 2,400 mg a day).
