Anyway, the doctor told me if TIPA does not work out, he has two more things for me to try.
I think its better that I wait and see what those two other things are, that he has in mind.
TIPA, is just to loud, and if you bring it down to a low level, its just not going to work for you.
He wants be to bring my Tinnitus down, by covering up my Tinnitus. So the brain reacts to the sound of the TIPA therapy.
Also, I have to stop my WIDEX Therapy, and acupuncture. I use TIPA enough, to know what direction it is taking me in. My ears can only take so much of it.
Anyway, I just about finished with it. I used up, most of my 12 minute sessions.
I think TIPA can work for allot of people. But, it all depends if your Tinnitus, get along with the sounds of TIPA. You will know, after about 15 sessions.
Why do you say you think it might work for a lot of people?
Are you listening thru speakers or headphones? Did you buy them thru TIPA? How much did they cost?
Sue
Sorry it doesn't seem to be working but at least your doctor has two more plans...seems most don't even have A plan:(
Thanks,
Sue
Beyondtinnitus.com, give you the ability to create music, or white noise.
It allows to set the pitch and tone of the sound of your Tinnitus.
I use it through my Walkman, on my right ear, when it acts up.
I use the outside hang over your ear speaker, so the sound comes from the side, and not directly into your ear.
In my case, I use the left speaker, on my right ear, so the speaker, is turned the opposite way, and not does not bang up against my hearing aid
Dr Hamid, and ENT specialist, will work with you, while you are on his program.
I believe, like the doctor said, some Tinnitus can adjust to the sound of TIPA, and won't bother your Tinnitus.
My problem is, that I have been on the WIDEX therapy for a long Time, so my brain is use to hearing the tones and white noise.
The TIPA sounds, are low frequency off the wall sounds, that either your ears can handle it, and adjust to the sounds, or they can't make the adjustment.
TIPA can be useful for somebody who has not had a long term Therapy. Once your brain is trainned to listen to a certain sound, it starts to calm down your Tinnitus.
Very close to the white noise, that I use on my TRT Therapy.

15 years ago when I got it, I did everything that I wrote down on my previous emails, and after 5 months, I forgot about my Tinnitus, for 15 years.
I am not kidding you, I would goes years, without even noticing it.
That's because, doing all the things I mentioned, brought my Tinnitus down so low, it did not bother me at all.
Now, I screwed up, by not paying attention to it, and doing everything, I should not have been doing.
A year ago, my T got worse. This time around, it is allot harder to lower the volume, because it got bad, out of my right year.
Sue, you have do allot of things, to lower the volume. The combination of what I am doing, is slowly, brining down the Volume.
TIPA, is good, and can be very beneficial, but the problem is, you don't want to mix sound therapies together.
WIDEX and TRT, I have been on for a year. So doing TIPA, could possibly complicate evrything the other therapies, have done good for me.
That's why, I knew TIPA, was not the answer for me. Especially, because raising the volume, is certainly not beneficial, if your Tinnitus is not responding in a positive fashion.
The doctor has two more things he wants me to try. He told they were old school therapies, but work well.
As long as they don't disrupt my current therapies, I am going to try them, I will let you know what they are.
I am getting better, I almost feel that I know how to combat my Tinnitus. Meaning, I feel almost in control.
I know what to do when it acts up. And sometimes I get quiet days, 2 to 3 days in a row.
So, I have come a long ways, from a year ago, when my Tinnitus was out of control.
Pure white sound, matching your Tinnitus in the right pitch and tone, will bring down your Tinnitus.
I talked to experts from all over the world, they all agree, that sound therapy, is only true way, to get the volume down, on your Tinnitus.
Neuromonics was suggested to me, at the famous House Institute in Los Angeles. They have some of the best ENT's,
in the world.
I was boderline, because my hearing loss. I could have use it. But it would had strain my ears.
I know it's all about the same music, but it does work on allot of people. Why did you stop it ?
Sue seriously, I have my bad days to, but I know if I stick to my sound therapy, the volume of my Tinnitus, will keep droping.
In 1995, I used the same therapy, but back then it was a sound generator, with white noise, only for my right ear.
And it worked.
Yes it does take time, but you have to stick with it.
WIDEX sound therapy sucks, in my eyes, because there TRT, along with ZEN Therapy is ok for the tones, top of the line hearing aids, but there white noise, is kinda cheap sounding.
That's why, I created my own TRT for when my right ear acts up. I run it through my hearing aid.
I know the Neuromonics works very well for some. I think it didn't work for me because I could always pick out my T sound from the music, it was like "wow, this is pretty music but what is THAT sound doing there" and my silly mind would obsess with the T....I never relaxed and enjoyed the music thus distracted from the T but the opposite because I would focus on the one sound that didn't belong...does that make sense? Anyway when my T is 7 or below I can mask with Moses Land CD so I'm thinking a white noise might work better for me than the music therapy....even though the music therapy seems more pleasant. Anyway for now when my T is above 7 I can't mask and that's where I've been lately.

My right ear was on fire this morning. I used my TRT white noise.
I started this morning on level 18 on my walkman, after 4 hours dropped to 16, then in the later afternoon 14 and 15.
Once your T goes balistic, I overpower it, until it comes down, and then I run my white noise, at comfortable levels.
If you keep doing that, your T, with start slowly coming down in volume.
Also, my gens (General Hearing) have a very soothing white noise but it is not "matched" to my T. My T is up at 10,500 to 11,000 hz, and the white noise is considerably lower than that. So I'm curious--did your audiologist "match" your white noise to your T or is that something you did on your own?
I know DeltaDart overpowers his T with music in the morning and it will often lower his T by 90% for the rest of the day. : )
