Can you imagine having a loud tinnitus 200+ years ago? No fans, no traffic noise, no radios, no sleep meds (maybe moonshine), no explaination, hardly if any community support, ... I suppose I'd build my cabin at the edge of a waterfall and hope it didn't rain too hard. I love the sound of even a single cricket and I love to drive with the air conditioner on and the windows down. A sound machine playing either birds or crickets helps me much at home. The birds are singing right now. A dehumidifier in the basement is a good friend. Coaching my sons baseball team helps me to not focus on the riiiiiiinnnnngggggg... Prayer is very good. Please share anything that helps you...

i personally like silence (if you can this silence) any background noise seems to just agitate the ringing more. i try not to have any noise when im alone and i just sit and draw or read to take my mind off it.The only real time that i dont seem to notice the ringing at all is when go to the gym,play a sport or playing with my two year old neice whos nothing but a little ball of energy. Seems like if i can get my blood pumping hard enough the ringing subsides and i dont notice it that much.

well tbh i find it so much easier just having something n in the background. When i lived in dubai we always had a.c on so it was pretty good but now im back in the uk its a lot more difficult coz the house is always quiet which sucks so i have my music on. Sadly my mum has it too but hers gets louder when its noisy so we have to try and find a compromise :S

I have tinnitus in my left ear. Most likely a result of too many heavy metal concerts over the past decade. I am now an advocate for wearing ear plugs. My ENT doctor prescribed Xanax. It helps me fall asleep. Unfortunately it does nothing for the tinnitus.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
