I often feel like the old dog that has to learn a new trick.
If I were in a pool, the lifeguard would have me flagged as a constant drowning victim in danger. ROFLOL Oh, yeah, I'd have a speacial neon wrist flag and everything I'm sure! Hugs to you.
My neighbor keeps telling me, "Honey, the last thing anyone is going to do for you is throw a shovel full of dirt on you." I guess I don't have to clean that one up. LOL
Oh, you don't know MDS? It is a very common male malady which tends to run in families. Now sometimes, you are lucky and have a few break throughs where they go into "normal", shall we say for lack of a better term, and are fine, helpful, etc. Oh, it's lovely when that occurs and I'm thankful.
MDS is not life threatening just challenging. MALE DEAFNESS SYNDROME occurs when the wife/mom speaks and selective hearing/desire interferes with the message spoken. LOL You'd be surprised if you took a pole how many women have male family members with MDS however, it never occurs when you say there is something to eat. Odd, ain't it? ROFLOL
They do truly help, it' just like driving a mule train which is still work.
Its time for me to stop thinking so much about getting things together and time for me to take action and DO.
Nice post thanks ;)
Well the men may posess MDS, but it seems like you're the one who actually suffers from it. I think you ought to tell the men that unless they want to see you too soon in your grave, they should make a real effort to recover from this strange affliction. Look at you being driven to distraction by this long list of things, having little or no time for what you want to do and somehow feeling you're to blame for not knowing how to get it all done. You really just need a bit of compassion.
Yeah you're like me. It's not always the remembering that's hard, it's the taking action. I don't know... but do you find your lists get longer as a way to try something else? Like you just keep adding things to the list until you get to one you want to work on!
Yes, I believe that does happen, and I believe its a reason why people stop making list, because the list started with good intentions and reasonably becomes unreasonable. Meaning that the list grows and becomes overwhelming, so the list maker stops or gives up, self-defeating.
So, since reading this thread I have started a new list and it only has to things on it so far, I am trying to keep in mind realistic in which whatever i put on my list will be something i can accoplish in a 8hr period.
Wish me luck I hope I can keep it up!!!
And maybe that's what they mean by "The road to hell is paved with 1,000 good intentions." hehe I mean, it sure seems like hell when you're sitting there with a list of things that you have to figure out the details for each task--ugh that's a chore-and multiply that by like 16! It's like, "Couldn't there be anything on this list that's fairly simple and quick to accomplish?" Hummm, that's probably also what they mean by "The devil is in the details!"
Ya know, if the gremlins could just stay out of my business until after the holiday season, I'd be much relieved.
