When I was in the hospital last year..I had no idea what happened to me ..only that one late afternoon everything went off kilter and I was extremely disoriented...I went to my doctor who said that I seemed to be having a caridac episode (still do not know what that means !!).. they ran me through a CAT scan and then an MRI..the next day a doctor,,and not even my doctor came in to tell me the tests indicated that I had some small bleeding in the brain and identified it as a TIA or mini-stroke.. he was gone in less than 3 minutes,,no explanation no counseling for what proved to be a life changer..and this is what really upset me...I was expected to continue working as if nothing had happened and..this in truth was the fault of my employer who proved to be a first class idiot...Still I knew little of what a TIA was coming out of the hospital..only that I could get a full blown stroke in 3 months if not careful...which made me feel (take a guess???)...So now we come to this group and hopefully we can share experiences and approaches to this ...

I understand what you feel. I have had two TIA's in a year. My mom called 911 for me the first time and the er didnt run any kind of test to find out what was going on with me. just told me that i as having a miscarriage, i had just found out that i was pregnant a week before this happened, and that is all the doctor told me. they didnt run any tests other than took some blood. I just found out Friday that what i was happening to me was called TIA. I was in shock but i was glad to have some answers finally. I have been doing some reading online myself about TIA and I would say that you should do that same that way you know what is it and what is going on with your body and what to do the next time it happens if it does and i pray that it doesn't happened again. i hope that this helps and i am here if you need to talk. i was also in the dark till i did my own research about it so that i would know what it was and what was happening to my body.
