Hi all
This is Milo sitting in his cardboard house that has a scratchable floor. Look at his face, smug! He deffinitely has a look of superiority ; )
Carly, what i should have said was $6.04 .
When you think about it i spent that amount of money on a cardboard box lol, oh well, he enjoys the scratchy bit, and he's also using it as a den.
Also i meant oil the food you put in the air fryer, not the air fryer itself. Like when i did my parsnips, i tossed them in oil first, or you can use spray oil if you have that.
I'm watching a series on Netflix called Dead to me, it is very good! Worth a look.
Ive had a tidy up around here and ive sorted what i'm doing for our evening meal, I want to have a bit of a re arrange of my art and craft stuff next.
Cold a grey outside.

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

No kids to drive today, their mom is home with a migraine so she's letting them sleep in and will drive them herself when they're ready. They are supposed to go to their dad's tomorrow for the rest of the week so I'll finally have a chance to go visit my daughter for a few days. I won't go until I know for sure that he's taking them though. He's not known to be very dependable.
Serenity I really hope that neighbour is doing what he volunteered to do. It's so disappointing that this place isn't quite the haven you need. You just moved in and looked so forward to it.
Joanne, you are so ambitious. All the painting and rearranging and now sewing and cooking too. Makes me tired just reading about all the work you do lol
And Sandra you too - you're sewing too and you hoover more often than I sweep! I should sweep more but it hurts so I tend to avoid it until I can't stand it.
Carly yes when I say I've been up since 3 I mean up for the day. I did fall asleep for maybe half an hour in the afternoon. Some nights the pain just won't let me stay in bed. Last night wasn't great either but I stayed in bed until just after 4.
I roasted the chicken. I had planned to make homemade bread stuffing but the bread went bad on me. Then I planned to make StoveTop stuffing but they showed up and I forgot. I love a nice roast chicken dinner with gravy and potatoes, carrots and turnips. I don't care for peeling veggies but I started early and did it in stages so it was easy. That is our traditional dinner for holidays except turkey instead of chicken. The chicken I had was barely big enough as there were absolutely NO leftovers.
We use our air fryer quite a bit but I never thought of trying parsnips in it. We like parsnips fried in butter or wrapped in tin foil in the oven. Are they as good done in the air fryer? I've been working on eating more veggies so any new ways to prepare them would be great.
Going to go get my day started. I'll check back in after a while. Gotta get dishes done and maybe a load of laundry. Hugs,
Nonie
empathy, that photo is adorable. milo does look like he thinks he's the king there. i'm glad he likes the scratching floor. i hope that keeps him from choosing other things.
i really enjoyed that series. i'm watching a dark comedy now called in the dark. there is some violence and such, but it's in a humorous way ultimately if that makes sense.
there's a robin's nest in the light fixture of my back porch. i'm leaving it alone, but i want to see if some eggs come along.
two hours of solid dog barking last night when i went to bed. neighbor's were yelling at it or the owners. i just got up and watched that series until i could fall asleep. why don't dogs throats get sore?!
i'm eating fruits and veg for this week b/c of thursday's procedure, so my mouth is watering reading about all of your cooking. i enjoy my air fryer for almost everything.
i'm going to try to focus on the positives. i like the space and i've put my japanese screen up in the front window rather than a curtain.
it's very pretty and warm again today, but a big storm is coming in tomorrow for a few days.
i'll organize a bit, then try to pull myself together to visit mother. nonie, i don't know if you were coming in when i mentioned she has parkinson's. the symptoms are better at times, but she's involved with a few activities in her senior living facility. her apt flooded on Christmas day, so they moved her which was confusing. and now she moved back to her previous apt and the
HVAC system was installed wrong, so things have been more confusing for her and will hopefully settle down for her. her procedure and biopsy were both positive outcomes.
hugs n hope for an upbeat day.
That's still cool Lisa, Spring is coming soon! The 20th here, when's yours? Hey I bet it felt good to stay in pj's this morning. I stayed in mine all day yesterday, it'd been a long time since I had a pj day. Your dinner sounds so good. I never could get into an airfryer so gave mine away. I thought everything was too dry and I normally steam everything anyways so it's easy. I've never had fried parsnips I've have to try it.
Alright Serenity your 1st living beings there. I swear birds will nest anywhere. Have you seen any squirrels yet? I peeked out the door the other day and I kept hearing screeching, I looked for a hawk and couldn't see one and then noticed a squirrel in the tree doing it, what in the world! This was a new one on me! Was it calling out to mate or what? Do you have any idea? Sorry to hear your mom is going through that, somehow I missed she has Parkinsons.
My eyes are really starting to worry me and the doctor I went to is the only one my insurance covers. My right eye is almost as bad as the left again. I had a tiny break watching TV last night my left eye cleared for a moment and I could see straight through it. I have plugs in my bottom lids for chronic dry eyes, because they produce no liquid at all, but I don't know how they could be put in the upper without constantly crying. What a pain in the behind. I just try to stay out of the light and that means doing nothing.
I did manage to do a load of laundry it doesn't require watching it lol.
Hello to those I missed. Have a good day
Peace love harmony xoxo
I am feeling bad that you are always explaining to me when I should look it up. But even going on Google I couldn't see that symbol for pound. But either way, it sounds like a really good deal.
I got what you meant about the oil of the food and not the cooker. I told Mike right away. And for once I think he agreed as it was not MY idea. :-)
Nonie, for the life of me I will never understand how people get out in this weather. But I have to understand that snow is VERY rare for us and life goes on in snowy places. We are just not prepared for it.
Sleep is so fleeting for me as well. I so hate it that I can't sleep. I have tried everything. I will lie in bed and refuse to get up at 4. I am to sleepy to read but my dear hubby has no problem at all with reading at that hour.
No leftovers is always a successful meal.
Serenity, 2 hours of dog barking.....no way you should have to put up with that. I would be wondering what is making them bark and get rid of that problem. What are you going to do?
Moonie, I so hope your are feeling better and able to get the heart racing under control.
Sorry for your loss of Dad. He sounds like a great role model as in getting things done as it has sure rubbed off on you my friend.
Toni, I so hope you can soon know why your eyes are bothering you. How frustrating that must be.
I have never heard of plugs in eyes. But I think doing nothing is is a great idea. I wish for that day. Maybe try it. I've told you before that the Cave is quiet and no light to hurt your eyes.
Sleep is calling but she always lies. :-)
Much love and hugs to all.
xoxo
Warm day Miss Luma laid up on the step most of the day.
