We don't really do traditional stuff in alot of areas so it was no surprise that Drew made my engagement ring. It has meaning though. The pieces he chose are from objects from our first date, first time we moved together (not moved in together) and from our first house we bought and moved into together.
The ring itself is made from a drawer pull from our current house. The wire rose is phone wire from our first move (rented next door to each other) and the little bit of material is from the bathing suit I wore on our first date.
I know it's not a ring most people would be willing to wear but I wear it with pride because he put so much thought, heart and work into it.
We'll have slightly more traditionally wedding rings, as in bought not made. But they won't be plain gold bands.
Is love to hear about other people's weddings if you have a story to tell. My first was super traditional.

70F rain expectedThe rain is ok but not while I'm on my way to cardiology appointment. This is the quarterly EKG and lab work and just general check up on how the meds are working and I'm feeling. The meds have kept me out of A-fib and for that reason I want nothing changed, my cardiologist listens to what I have to say and for that I'm thankful. Pt went well yesterday and I'll do my excercises...
Jim and I went to our trail and said vows to each other, we did not make it legal. It was me that decided I didn't need a piece of paper to call it such. We got a little flack from my family, but I make my own decisions. Talk about non-traditional we lived it!

We didnt do things the right way either.
In fact we got married in 2018, we had been together for 36 years before we tied the knot officially.
We did it in secret too ; )
There was 4 of us, me, husband, our son and his gf.
