Hello circlers!
I can't believe how fast the days go by. Last week was a busy one for me. We're trying to evict a nest of wasps from inside the wall in our porch. We've tried so many things and nothing is working. They are not bothered by the scent of mint or eucalyptus, used a wasp killer spray foam into the wall (no results) tried soaping the nest but it must go far inside the wall. Now I have 2 sugar-water traps set out but they aren't going near them. I even put up a fake hornet nest - nothing. I think we'll have to wait for winter to freeze them to death so Drew can fill the hole in the wall.
We also have bees living in an outer wall but I don't mind them so much. We did cover their entry point so that should take care of it. We've had more bugs, of all kinds, this year than ever! Must be the heat.
I've been in here reading a few times recently but just when I'm deciding to write something comes up. Drew has suddenly been interested in going to the beach on the really hot days. So we've been out driving around looking for a nice spot that's not too Rocky and not too busy. You'd think on an island where you're never more than 10 miles from water it wouldn't be that hard. Unfortunately alot of the waterfront property is privately owned, or rocky or cliffs/capes. The nicest beach we found was such a long walk from where we had to park that I will never go there again. I had to sit in the sand half way back as my legs were giving out.
We're starting to do newspapers again Sept 5th. Just Saturdays for now which is good as it will take time to get used to it again

My broken teeth have my tonsils raw! I'm not getting them pulled though and going around without front teeth. They will soften up or come out on their own.
It is so hot outside, I'm keeping my behind in today. I washed my shoes, set them outside to dry and 10 minutes later they were. Now that's hot! What do I make for a few days, stew. Nothing like hot food on hot days.
I got outside yesterday and got my running done so I wouldn't have to the next few days.
I made a roller pantry that goes next to my fridge. Very handy and something I've wanted to do for sometime. While I was making it I thought this is the kind of thing one year someone will come across it and will wonder wth it is LOL. Aw if we could only time travel!
Have some laundry going and going to go over these floors and couch.

I never saw any flying ants this year?? Do wasps nest in houses do any damage? My sister had one and i'm sure we have one in the attic as i keep finding the odd dead wasp on the stairs and when i went up to the attic there was a wasp buzzing around the light.
We carried on getting a newspaper, our neighbour gets us one, we wipe it over with a wipe.
Toni, i read about your broken teeth yesterday, what ive done with rough edges is file them down with a metal nail file lol.
Is that one of those very narrow wooden things on wheels that slides down the gap between the fridge and wall?
Its absolutely pouring down at the moment. Milo is in his kennel safe and dry, weve tried to coax him in but he's not going to get wet lol.

Lisa-I wished for you to find a better beach access so your legs feel better when walking.
Toni-if you have your teeth pulled you can have teeth without implants or false teeth. It's one of the few things from the dentist that doesn't break the bank. It's called a Flipper. Research. From the accident years ago an eye tooth finally broke. It was pulled and a Flipper was made until I decided what to do. I did end up with an implant and having dental insurance was a saving grace. Good luck!
Today I removed the torn sun screen over the gazebo and replace a flat sun protection screen I got from IKEA years ago.....OMG it was so much work, blood, sweat and tears, but done. Shade over the table.
We have wind every single day which I like but not when painting doors and odds and ends. One door almost done. Geesh!
