Good day friends! It is so good to be back in here and reading how you all are doing. 2022 was a crazy year with hubby and I starting our blog, then his father passed away without a will so we had to jump through alot of legal hoops to get the rights to his house and property.
We spent the summer and fall back and forth between our place and the 'new' house (45-minute drive each way)cleaning it out and going through all the stuff left behind. It was sooooo much work - please, everyone, if you own property/house please make sure you have a will. It's a nightmare for those left behind.
Then we had our usual busy Christmas season with crafting and making gifts. My beloved kitty GraCee passed away on my birthday in November. She had been sick for a bit with a tumour on her jaw that grew so big she couldn't eat or drink very well. She was 19 years old so we had to let her go. I miss her terribly but I'm nowhere near being ready to get another cat yet.
For the first time in 6 years, we were able to have everyone over for Christmas dinner. We're in the house in the city for the winter and it's big enough and about 45 minutes closer to all my family so it worked out well. We had a few 'Christmas dinners', 16 people at the first one, then my mom, brother and step-father another day, and lastly my youngest daughter and her boys. Her whole house had Covid at Christmas time so they couldn't make it.
My Grandson Noah is back living at my daughter's home with his brother and sister. He spent about 4 years living with his father in another province so we're super happy to have him back. Hard to believe he is 13 already!
My son spent most of 2022 fighting with his ex for visitation rights to his daughter (3 yrs old). It went to court and he was granted visitation starting around November. He had barely seen her since March. He will get more and more days as time goes on until he is back to having 50% custody. It was a hard, stressful battle but he won and we're very happy to have her back in the family.
Two of my kids got married this year. The first wasn't a surprise as my oldest daughter and her long-time girlfriend had been planning for a few years but got delayed twice due to Covid. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding and a lovely day for it. My youngest son popped the question to his girlfriend in October and they were married in a small ceremony in November. He is the one who had to fight for his daughter. His new wife has two children already who are a boy 7 and a girl who will be 9 in February. We babysit for the often as they just live across town. Its great to have more grandchildren!
Speaking of children, my oldest suddenly gained 5 children (all boys) this year. His Phillipino girlfriend had been working on getting her Canadian citizenship over the last couple years while they'd been dating, they bought a house last year, and just before Christmas her boys came to Canada. They range from 13 to 20 years old. I met them at the airport when they arrived but they haven't been down for their dinner and gifts yet as her work schedule has been very busy.
OK I guess that's my update of 2022. There is lots more but it will come a bit a time I suppose. Oh yes, one more thing, when we got my father-in-law's house we also inherited a mobility scooter and a rollator. These two things have changed my life, literally! I can get around so much better and with the seat on the rollator I'm able to do dishes and cook again! It has made me more active and feeling better mentally as I can contribute to the household and not feel guilty for Drew doing everything. The scooter was great during the summer and fall as I could get out on my own and had a sense of freedom, even went shopping a few times with it.
Alright, this is long so I'll stop here. It is so cold here today I can't get warm. I need to wrap my feet up and get out the heating pad. It feels like -10C (14F) and we're getting ice pellets and freezing rain today - yuck!
Happy New Year to all my friends in the Circle, old and new!

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...
