Three programs come to mind immediately: Seinfeld, Cheers, and Newhart (the one where Bob Newhart - Dick Loudon - operated an inn in Vermont). Of course, you can still see the reruns, but I have already seen all of them at least three times. I need some new stuff... Most others show I just grew tired of by the time they were cancelled.

There may be others. I will have to think a bit.

The soap opera All My Children. I'd been watching it since I was 5. The people of Pine Valley were like family to me.

There was a show called Windfall a few years back. It got cancelled after 1 season and totally left me hanging.

I always get bummed out when a good show gets cancelled.

My parents were more than a little miffed when Greg the Bunny (yes, that one) was axed after one season. I could kinda see why though...it was controversially raunchy even by FOX's standards.

Programs that I personally miss:

* The Superstars. Yes, it was a special series that ran only a few weeks a year on Wide World of Sports (later on Sportsworld and CBS Sports Spectacular), but I was amazed at seeing athletes prove they could do more than just compete in their chosen sport. I still wish the US version had the gym tests event that the superior UK version had, but oh well.

* Beakman's World. Occasionally on in reruns now, was for me a much more enjoyable intro to science than Bill Nye could ever be.

HockeyCrazy, I'm with you on All My Children. My mother grew up watching it and I remember watching with her whenever I was home sick from school and I became a full fledged fan by the time I was 12. I watched that show religiously for 20 years and the day they said it was cancelled it was like all the air was sucked out of the room. That whole last week was so sad to me (also happened to lose my dog the day before the show ended so that just made it all the more worse) with the family wrap ups. I still have the finale on my dvr, I don't want to get rid of it!

I gotta say, that was probably the absolute worst tv cancellation ever for me but that's because I grew up with that show and like you said, they were like family, the craziest part of your extended family, but family nonetheless. That sting was only made worse with the whole possible moving to the internet idea that didn't pan out.

Without a doubt Kojak. The jackets he wore with the beautiful linings. Then pull a Tootsie Roll Pop out of his pocket . Oh dear. Uh huh. YA. You betcha

I guess i'm more modern on this. Ugly Betty. I wanted them to stretch out the show longer. Housewifes I was shocked when they ended it. It was such a popular show.

Speaking of USA network TheWhip, as a kid I loved watching The New Chain Reaction (not the Cullen version, but the one that was taped in Canada years later). Always interesting to take a letter thinking you had the next link of the chain solved only to see the wrong letter come up. The GSN remake from a few years ago just couldn't compare (it didn't help that in the GSN version host Dylan Lane was as stiff as a brick, while on The New Chain Reaction Geoff Edwards was his usual relaxed self, Edwards' best show imo.)

ER, but it went a bit down hill the last few seasons. I hate when writing gets stale and they start to write over the top situations.

I was a devoted "Friends" fan- still have all 10 seasons on DVD, but it's so ubiquitous on as re-runs, I don't need to pull out my DVDs.

I also loved "Mad About You" but it definitely had run it's course. I was newly married and had a baby when it was on, so I could relate to it. Especially the bitchy MIL.

I remember well the finales of Cheers and The Mary Tyler Moore show. Both were great finales but I had wished they weren't over. When you become a fan of a show, the characters become part of your family and all of a sudden, they're gone. It's a bit devastating.

And, Hockeycrazy, I didn't know that AMC was gone. I watched that show religiously when I was a kid and even into my 20's. The woman who plays Erica's daughter is in real life the daughter of our priest in Florida. He is one proud papa.

I wish X-Files were still on. Not reruns but I wish Skully and Mulder would have gone on until they were 90, LOL.
I'm sure Gillian and David would not be thrilled at this prospect but still...
