Downton Abbey - Season Four

TheWhip
Is set to premier on 5 January 2013. While I am super excited for a new season, I know the season premier is going to be so sad and depressing. i do not look forward to the family's reaction to Matthew's death. I kind of hope they will do it were some months have elapsed.

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...

Good call on the Nazi camp - I didn't think about that at all! That would definitely make for a possible explanation for Gregson's disappearance - but is he Jewish? Did they imprison anyone who wasn't in those days?
I still don't get why Edith hasn't just told her parents rather than hide the kid in plain sight. Surely at some point that child is going to resemble her or something and people will begin to wonder just what she got up to during her continental holiday with Aunt Rosamund. The family is oddly progressive for the times in many ways (save for maybe stick-in-the-mud Robert) so I would bet they'd accept the child and figure out a way to keep her and not have Edith be shamed for it in some way - but she's got to tell them first. And no way she can live with her daughter so close but not with her; it will continue to eat at her the same way it did to give her away to the Swiss couple.
You've reaffirmed my faith in Bates. I've suspected it's all a ruse to make us think he's capable of killing a man - and though I do think in many ways he is, I still think he'd much rather beat his wife's rapist to a pulp or strangle him with his bare hands than just push him in the way of a truck.
Moseley and Baxter are cute together. Reminds me a little of Bates and Anna in the early days.
They spent a lot of time on Cora's brother Harold, didn't they?! Paul Giamatti's a great actor and I did enjoy him in the role and at least he didn't feel wasted the way Shirley MacLaine does every time she's there. I wouldn't mind a return visit from Harold in the future, but I think next time maybe they can give him more to do with the actual family... Side note - why were Martha and Harold invited to Rose's coming out party but Rose's own parents weren't present for it? I know her mother could care less about her, but surely her father would have wanted to be there, right?!
I hope Moseley and Baxter tie the knot. She is good for him and visa versa.
The Nazi's put Jews in the camps along with any dissident the comment made by Edith was the " boys in brown " were saying things he didn't like. They put many people in the camps beside the Jews. Horrible.
I want Mary and Blake to tie the know next year................
Moseley and Baxter are cute together, but I have a feeling they will go slower with any possible relationship between the two than they did with Bates and Anna.
Paulina, how did you feel about Anna's rape storyline (we had a bit of a back and forth here earlier in the season about it) and do you think Bates killed Green or no?
They are certainly making Bates look guilty aren't they? And after episode 8 even more so. It seems like something he would do to me. We will see. I just hope he doesn't get caught.
