I am feeling yucky today. I went to the mall with my older daughter and my niece on Friday and I was only there for 2 hrs but wow did that do me in. Plus my plan was to take a pain pill when we got there to tied me over and I forgot them at home. Should have just taken it before I left but too late then. I wasn't an easy trip but I had some time out with them. I have been achy ever since.
Hubby just left with the girls and my younger daughters BFF to go to the movies. Of course I said "no...go ...have fun! I just want to rest" but really it sucks to be left out again. Now we are debating going up north for labor day weekend. We ususally go with our neighbors (my older daughters bff) but it is a 4hr drive and hubby is saying NOOOO. I asked my surgeons assistant and she said if we make stops it should be fine. The house is huge right on a beautiful lake in Traverse city and there are alot of stairs but I was going to pace myself and really want to lay on the beach even just for a day or two. We usually go for 4-5 days but I know that will be too much. I am disappointed. I told my daughter to go ahead and go with her friend but she doesn't want to go without us. If hubby works it is out of the question anyway.......we have a sweet 16 party in oct to pay for and we wanted to go all out for her. We are having about 60 - 70 people at a small hall with a DJ..should be fun. She has given up so much for me this summer I want to do this for her so she'll always remember it (I don't remember my 16...guess I didn't have a party!! LOL) Anyway so if he is scheduled he can't turn down triple time. So it looks like no weekend get away for me.
If so I will enjoy the last few days of summer with the girls here. They are both starting new schools so it will be stressful....prob mostly for me!
Anyway I hope everyone had a great weekend. Take care!!!
Autumn
Autumn, I totally understand about skipping the movies for some rest. It sucks to be left out, but we have to grab the down time when we can.
Jae, I hope your long car trip goes well, and that you enjoy your vacation, with your pain at a tolerable level.
Manny, Hope you enjoyed the party. I have a great recipe for banana split cupcakes if you are ever interested!
Cherry, send some of that pie my way, will ya? lol.
Hugs to all...hope you all have a wonderful, low pain week ahead!
Nealy, I so love the farmers' market...especially the corn on the cob! YUM!
Toni, sorry your arms are not allowing you to type much. We'll miss you, but please do what is best for you! Many hugs..xxx
Hope I haven't forgotten anyone..
Oh, David, thanks for the new pic of Rocco! What a cutie!
Yesterday was a real busy day. I worked Saturday, Midnight to 4:30 AM, slept 2 hours, went to church and had church business after that, bringing me to a late lunch and then met back at church to go to the city prison and attend their church service. Walked Rocco at 9:15 PM with a flashlight and then hit the hay.....WHEW!!!!
This thread is a place where you could share your feelings if you want to.
Sorry I was MIA yesterday, but I did have a great day!! Pain is about the same. I may be a bit under-medicated, but we'll see what my PM doc thinks.
I hope y'all have a good day.
Let's keep this going. I have a similar thing going on the main CP board..
Big Hugs,
David.
Had a good Birthday party yesterday and everyone loved the cupcakes. I would love to have any of you stop by for some cupcakes and dinner. Give me a week to clean up the house as it has been slow going for me. By the time I finish one room and start on another I have to go back and redo the room I already did. I guess that is what happens when there is seven people living under one roof.
I am watching my four year old niece today she is living here with her mom for the past couple of years since her divorce. Did not think they would be here this long but hopefully her and her BF find something to live in and my older kids can get a move on. I think I am the only person who wants a empty nest LOL
Hope everyone has a good day and a low pain day
I am doing OK this morning. Had a little episode trying to move Rocco's crate. Twisted the wrong way, but getting over it.
Tomorrow I will start a new thread. These threads are designed for us to kinda check-in on a daily basis, if possible. We want everybody here to be a part of this group, more than a member. If you are looking; today could be the day that you say hey, and let us know a little bit about you.
I wish you all well and look forward to seeing some possible new posts.
Hugs,
David.
A bit rushed this morning as I have a doctors appt and have to take a four year old with me fun, fun. She is my niece and she lives with us and I have to watch her while her mom works so now that my kids are pretty much grown it is weird to have a little one to watch.
It gets harder with age and the only good thing is with age comes patience so I guess it evens out. Then after the doctors we are going to the city pool they have a water slide and little kids water park so even tho it sounds fun it is still alot of work. DANG now I have to shave my legs LOL only kidding.
Hope everyone has a great day.
I would love to hear from everyone
OF COURSE I would cruise your way...I am going to see all my family while I am RV'ing around. No one gets left out. HUGS to you my friend

>>>ME>>>
I am desperately looking forward to this vacation. I have not been anywhere with my kids for any type of "getaway" or Vacation since 2005. I am really looking forward to being with my "sister" and her family for a week. She and I have been friends for 12 or 13 years now.
However...this is the first trip I am taking since becoming disabled. We are taking a train because I thought it would be the easiest for me and the kids have never been on one before so they are very excited. I have had a heck of a time making sure that myself and my little duck would not run out of meds on our trip...and making sure that I have them packed appropriately. I ended up packing two extra days worth in a separate container incase something happened to my little bag that I am carrying with me on the train.
I am hurting so bad right now from getting the last minute run around stuff done and the packing...I cannot lift my right arm more than half way--right shoulder is not happy. I am trying really hard to focus on the positive but, I would be a lier if I said I was not scared that my back will go completely "out" while I am gone.
K....I am going to be ok. "Fake it til you make it" right? If you guys don't hear from me by the 2nd...please send out search and rescue....I will be the one they find in a closet at the train station, buried under luggage.
HUGS to you all my friends!!
I am not sure if we are still on this post for this week or dave said something about starting a new one but did not see it. I am tired my four year old niece runs me raged. Yesterday, We went to the doctors and then to the city pool out to lunch after that and then finally home for a nap only to wake up and go grocery shopping and to the pet store and home to do a puzzle. WOW that is enough for a couple of days for me. Now it is my cleaning day and not liking that.
Hope all has a good day
Tomorrow--- yoga 10-11 (if not too lazy), hypnobirthing class 12-3, Chinese herbalist for hubby, fill out his hours for his work (yes, I do that!), insurance paperwork (fun), swim (hopefully... need the exercise and relaxation), walk, work on baby's room or invites, get ready for work Mon.
I hope you all have a better day today.
Dhamma, tell me about this hypnobirthing, is it like lamaze? I have used the lamaze thing at time of extreme pain ever since I learned it on the fly with my firstborn. Could you used the hypno for CP do you think?
Hypnobirthing stresses that pain is worsened by tension and fear. Releasing tension and trusting our bodies, our babies, and the process of birth is the key. I did not take Lamaze, so can't compare the 2. I am having a natural waterbirth.
Any relaxation technique, skillfully done, will help CP.
:-)
littleb I tried lamaze. I didn't have any drugs and both boys got a high score on the test they do at birth. I hyperventilated though and the nurses told me to stop. I was a bit calmer with the second son.
I am happy to hear so far that aside from pain and bouts of no electricity everyone seems to be surviving the
storm. I am not a TWC girl but have been watching a lot because it was due to affect some of my good friends.
I still have on very good friend on here that is upstate New York and she was concerned because of all the trees very near her home and driveway.
I believe I have found something that will calm my neck and shoulder pain down. It is all natural and doesn't have the capascian (pepper) that my others have. It has St.Johns Wart and Yarrow and Lavender and some other herbs. It is gentle on the skin.
Toni I really enjoyed your catch up last evening. Sometimes I have done exactly what you did. The pain is bad but finding a distraction and fighting through it at least gives me satisfaction of having done something. I wonder if we
wiggleworms handle our pain in a different way than calm laid back people do.
Bridget I suspect you are still without power after reading your last report. I hope it is not off too long.
David I was thinking the extra pain you were having might be due to the storm. I am not familiar with the third
shot Rocco needs to go to groomer or trainer. I will say I have received warnings from friends to make sure
heartworm treatments are done because there is a shortage of meds to treat this disease. Our pups go to a
private groomer who does it as a love and hobby. Of course they are love maintenance shampoo and flea dip.
I have to say with the boxer mouth they need their faces wiped continually.
Duckie how nice to have a friend like yours to visit and laugh with. It sounds like you are having a pretty good time
Have you made it to the water to get your feathers wet yet? I hope so.
Foof wishing you a safe trip home and remember just close those eyes through the pass.
Cherry hope you didn't get as much as what they expected. The muffins sounded really good for a
rainy day.
Nealy I hope you found some yummy food at the farmers market and are now a little rested and enjoying it.
