I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.
David, the one you posted has always been one of my favorites too. It helps me make sense of things that don't make sense. Thanks for this thread.
Regardless of what ever happenes to me on this earth, what ever tests or sitatuion may it be I will stay strong and finish the race, God's Grace is good enough for me
@Freedom... Also great!!! Paul is the man. I was saved at the age of 43, and listening to Paul encouraged me in my walk with Christ. Saved by Grace!! BTW that's 2 Corinthians, Chapter 12.
Rom 8:28 (NET) Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose,
Freedom is this the verse you are thinking of?
2Co 12:7 (NET) 2Co 12:7 even because of the extraordinary character of the revelations. Therefore, so that I would not become arrogant, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to trouble me — so that I would not become arrogant.
With everyday life and so many things going on, it reminds me to give it to God and quiet my mind.
to allow him to work thru me.
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV)
As iron sharpens iron,
so one man sharpens another.
We rely on each other in this wonderful Support and Chronic Pain group.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Jesus Christ to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
God knows our hearts. It is not that we can obtain salvation by how many good deeds we do but how our hearts are seen and used by God through Christ & it is a gift that we can all choose to receive. Anything good we do was already chosen by God for us so he knows that part of us before we were ever born.
In our heart where we share kindness, love, compassion, and forgiveness is what God looks for within us all. God's greatest command is to "love one another".
I wish that was as simple as it sounds to me but I do realize that is the hardest for many to do. Everyone can get tripped on truly loving one another but that is to me what must be done.
None of us will ever be perfect. Christ was the only perfect one on this earth. We are only to try to strive to become better and follow in a Christ like way through the word of God.
I will be a life long student. I am so blessed....
Thanks David and may God Bless you
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!
I chose this one, because it has special meaning. It basically says that having a friend to help you through, makes life better. That's what this group offers each of us!
Hugs!! :)
What a powerful statement. I try to walk my talk, but I can't follow that as Paul did. I do take this walk in confidence, because I'm not alone.
Let's keep this going!! Thanks to all so far. Let's try to get this up to 50 posts. You can do more than one.
David.
Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again; Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petitiions, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And , the peace of God, which trancends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".
Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
