A stroke is an acute neurologic injury where the blood supply to a part of the brain is interrupted, either by a clot in the artery or if the artery bursts. The brain perfused by that artery no longer receiving oxygen carried by the blood and dying with cessation of function from that part of the brain.
First, they are hard to find; 2nd they are hard to keep. My longest PCA came unraveled and threw a hissy fit & quit today w/no notice. I know the state of Massachusetts pays them peanuts, but it's still better than McDonald's or Walgreen's. Most of them, female or male, have a half-life of 3 months at which point they think they're better than the job, wanting more money (although they are paid by the STATE). Is anybody else having nightmares w/ helpers that can't wait to get to the television, your food, their cel phones, and have to be reminded of the stupidest, smallest things all the time. Am I alone?

My friend has had this problem too. But her cpa gets paid very well. She does about 1 hr. of work in a 8 hr. shift. She does eat their food, finds ways to sit and watch her programs and outings that revolve around her needs. The only reason she is still there is because she is dependable. I am sorry you are having these problems. I hope you find someone who works well with your needs. Is there some agency that can help you? Best wishes to you.

We have problems with that in Canada as well. As a caregiver to my husband I was only allow 6 hours a week, I chose to take the time 2 mornings a week. She was suppose to be helping Ralph with his pysiotherapy and walking outside with him. All the time she was here she would sit in the chain and fall asleep. This was after he came home from the hospital, before he had the aneuysm surgery and first eye surgery. He kept telling me he was okay on his own, but I knew his sight was not good and I was still in the high stress mode after his surgery. She did NOTHING, Ralph had no patience for a lazy person. Do you think that it would help to contact the people who send them and try to find a person with a little more integrity? Take care, I hope things will get better for you, Joanne

sorry started a reply and needed to get phone comp sjkipped to newpage ok for care giver in arizona go to arizona health care cost containment great folks they pay a family member or friend to help you out i personally know its helps my family out as hubby quit his job to stay home with me so it helps two ways he gets payed for staying home and makes it easier for him to put up with me just call penny at 6024176670 ask about the care giver program she will help you out almost over night it seems very nice people ps tell them toby sent ya good luck and its some thing that teaches CPR first ade and gets them ertified to care for you too

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
