There are many self help books for stress and anxiety. You may want to read some to see what suggestions can allieve your strong cycle of stress you have associated with your job.
Lastly you may want to see if you can find a job in a more pleasant city. Environment is very important and it sounds like the one you have is not working well for you. If you do indeed despise your job, that's a big price to pay perhaps too big.
Books are a good way to get a variety of information. And, libraries have quite a few really GOOD ones. Speaking of libraries, CDs, DVDs, are also great sources {mood music, yoga, breathing}.
