Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
I have found writing letters to my son on such hard days makes me feel close to him and helps my heart ache just a bit less. I have also found that putting words down on paper on why you are feeling guilty and angry and sad give them less power. Those feelings come back, but for the moment I release them from my head, I feel better.
I felt strong but I believe I may have been in shock, because when the weekend of his due date arrived, I was struggling.
Going to light a candle for him really helped me feel lighter, like I was doing something for his life. Even though I do not have my baby and I am not doing all the things for him if he was here, I am still doing something to honor him and our time together.
I am thinking this week I will order a necklace with his footprints on them. I have also been looking into planting a tree in his memory, and we want to dedicate a bench in central park for him, too, because it would have been his "back yard"
All I want to do is memorialize my son and regain my strength physically so we can try again this year.
Everything else feels is so insignificant, but I am sure my enthusiasm will return to other areas of my life after some time has passed.
I am sending you lots of healing energy and my deepest sympathy for your loss.
