That all being said, ANY mole that changes should be checked. I suggest highly that you find a GOOD dermatologist (do not go to a PCP). The problem with that may be a good dermatologist is hard to get into. Asked to be put on a waiting list and, if going to a PCP is your only option to receive a visit in a reasonable amount of time, request the removal using punch biopsy.
I wish you all the luck that your mole is benign. Most of the time it is but you should not hesitate regardless.
