Waking at night with anxiety and fast heartbeat

I am having such a horrible time sleeping at night. I fall asleep just fine but I wake up every 2 hours feeling very anxious. Sometimes my blood pressure goes up and my heart rate goes up anywhere from 95-140. I have a history of SVT's but my cardiologists say at 140 it is not one. Usually my stomach is bothering me and I have to burp or I have heartburn. I am now on a candida control diet and not eating grains or sugar but I am still having problems in my stomach. Does anyone else have issues with their stomach and digesting food?

I really need a solid nights sleep. Can anyone offer advice? I am on prilosec, restasis, and digoxin for my heart. I am getting so depressed because I cannot sleep because I am so anxious. This is no quality of life. Taking melatonin good or bad for Sjogrens?

Any help offered would be appreciated. All I do is cry because I am so tired.

It seems to me you should ask your doctor about this. Some of the side effects of digoxin can keep you awake and anxiety is sometimes medication related. Maybe the doc can suggest a different dose or different drug instead. You need your sleep!

I definitely have trouble sleeping & problems with my esophagus, stomach, & colon. I had a horrible time sleeping before cause my throat felt like it was closing up. My rheumy said it was from ss. Also acid would go up my esophagus. It ended up that I now use a reclining pillow like they use in the hospital. It is great to use for sleeping. I can now breathe & the acid doesn't burn my esophagus. I take nexium which is sensational(better then prilosec). I take probiotic to help my bowel problems. It helps alot. I still have problems at times. I have ibs. As for sleeping I now wake up every 2 hours to pee. My legs go numb & sting. I have to get up & move around. I itch when I lay down. How frustrating! Some ways to sleep have improved but not enough. I can't take a muscle relaxant because of other medicine I am on for other ailments.

I have sleep issues, too. I can't take any depression medication as any I have tried including zoloft made my eyes even drier. I have had punctual plugs put in and I use googles when I blow dry my hair as the air hitting my eyes really creates drier eyes for me. I have tried Restasis three times but couldn't tolerate it as I felt like I had put acid in my eyes. I take Evoxac for my dryness which does help but it is extremely expensive. Right now I am dealing with my head itching 24/7. I have tried 18 different prescriptions which includes shampoos and nothing has helped. My rheumatologist doesn't have a clue about what I should do about it and I am having problems finding a dermatologist who treats scalp problems. I really do need help. I am a 68 year old woman. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Again, thank you all. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My daughter cooked for us all which was a blessing. I am still struggling and trying a new supplement that was suggested on the Sjogren Foundation Facebook page by someone. It is called moringa olifera. It has a ton of antioxidants, omegas, and amino acids which are supposed to help with the inflammatory response. So I thought I would give it a try.

    I went to the doctor a while ago to see about my allergies. He rubbed my arm and stuck things under the skin. Nothing. He poked and prodded, his phlebotomist drew so much blood people thought that we were dating. The tests all came back negative. Then one day I went back and I told him that I had found the cause of my allergy.It turns out, I am allergic to betrayal.
