Hi, my son is starting growth hormome shot (Increlex) for IGF-1 in Novemeber. Our doctor has said he has seen positvie results with children using this drug.
My 11 year old son is only 49 inches tall and about 50 lbs. Hope it works.

I used growth hormone replacement as a child. I didn't take teh medicine you are referencing but I took humna grownth hormone for many years until they developed a senthetic GH called somotropin. I took this from the time I was 7 unitl the time I hit puberty. I stopped growing when I was 3 years old and I grew to 4'3". When I was 5 I only weighed 19 pounds and wore 18 months clothes so there's proof right there that it worked. It was well worth it. I could not have lived a normal life at that size. Now I'm married with kids.

My son had issues for years. The doctors would watch his growth and finally last year after about 3 years of waiting they sent him for the tests. HIs bone age came back 8yrs old and he was going to be 11 in 2 months. He was in size 6 clothes and in 5th grade. I went to Childrens Hospital and they did some tests and discovered that he has ISS and that his body does produce the hormone to grow but since he was so far behind they put him on nutropin injections every night. It has been 1 year now and he has grown 3 inches. He is around 70 lbs. and this always makes him happy to be in the 70's weight wise.
