I shop for clearance or markdowns. Ususally nothing I need, but I tell myself I can use it...so I get more than one. KMart had cute pants on sale for 2.79 then another 40%off, I got 6 pr. I am sure I will use 1-2 but, the other 4, I am ashamed. I just adore bargains when I see them. My trigger is the opportunity to have something for less than it usually is. I go into the stores for a lift. I would like to behave differently. Blessings to All

What triggers me, is when I feel like I am unattractive, fat or having a bad day. There is something about buying something new that really gives me a temporary lift. I wish that wasn't the case. I am also bipolar, so hypomania often triggeres huge shopping binges.

Hi everyone, My triggers are probably a few things, like, boredom, depression, online email sales, browsing eBay, too much idle time on my hand! Not in a relationship right now & spent too much money in the past & present, so my savings are non-existence!

Stress is a trigger also & sometimes my job can be stressful or dealing with family issues can be in stress zone also.

I am happy that I didn't overdraft this week! THANK GOD!

Boredom triggers my shopping, also sadness.

I don't get out much because I can't drive. I have a suspended license because I have epilepsy. And I only have 2 friends. I'm in my house by myself most of the the time while my parents are at work. So shopping for me is like having a friend I can depend on to always be there for me when I'm feeling lonely. And when I get an opportunity to get out of the house, I'll take any chance I can get. So for me it would be boredom and loneliness

When I'm stressed, depressed, angry, unhappy with the way I look, so many reasons to shop. As of today, I am 7 days clean... have only purchased gas for my car in the past 7 days... finding it harder to cope with things in my life now that the shopping is gone.

I'M SO ANGRY!!!! And when I'm angry I shop. It's how I cope. By buying myself something, it makes me feel like i can let go of the things that anger me. There's a co-manager in my office who drives me nuts and her first and foremost goal is to do the opposite of everything I suggest. It's been like that for the past 4 years and because I'm the daughter of the boss, it's even worse. Even the employees in her department don't respect her. My father and his partner think she's incompetent and yet she has been working here for 4 years. That pisses me off!!! I'm so tired of working in an environment like this. I'm so sick and tired of my life. And without shopping, I am now wanting to turn to alcohol or my prescriptions to ease my pain and anger. That's what triggers my shopping binges.

This thing trigger me badly when I shop my outfits at high price and after a week they are available at discounted prices. So I feel down for this mishap that, why I not for that week on which I can get the same outfits at cut off prices.
